Rangers didn't dominate, therefore they sucked. Again, if I'm watching this game as a neutral fan, I'm thinking that this is great playoff hockey. Each team getting momentum and responding to the other. While I was disappointed the Rangers didn't come out with their hair on fire, they got better and better as the game went on.

Agree 100%.

Ovechkin's line had some sustained pressure. That is going to happen every game. Aside from that, we did fine 5-on-5. You, like Kershaw and some others, clearly don't understand that if we played so poorly 5-on-5 than we don't get those PPs. We had half periods were we did bad (2nd half of the 1st, 2nd half of the 2nd). But we played a very good 3rd and won the game.

If you think penalties ONLY happen because you are just so much better than the other team then you are delerious, some players are lazy and hook, others try to get an advantage, it's the playoffs....know how many penalties were NOT called for both sides?? players try to get away with stuff, the Caps were just getting caught

The Rangers had a few oppertunities that they cashed in on, otherwise we'd be down 3-0. We have never this year been an offensive team capable of scoring 4 goals a game....if you think we can do this well then it's a waste to type this..

Exactly. This entire series has been razor thin. This board has become the WFAN of sports boards. I hate having a rooting interest in the games because they have been so good.

I hope Powe is okay, if it is a concussion, 2nd one in less than 6 months is not good. I hope he gets thru it fast. If he is out on Wednesday, I hope Clowe is back in, if not then insert Kreider, but I really think Clowe will be in on Wednesday, which could be another huge boost for the Rangers. And I know I am in the minority (or even the only person), but I really like Pyatt's game in the playoffs, I did not like him in the season and thought when Rangers got healthy he should be scratched. However, Pyatt is strong on the puck along the boards and has made some good passes, I am fine with him in the lineup.

HEY! We won a playoff game and cut the deficit. Be happy dammit.

It's like the skaters and Hank are never on the same page. Offensive surges? Hank ****tin the bed. Hank being god? NO GOALZ!

Agreed wholeheartedly. Games ebb and flow particularly this time of year.

How about the play of Moore and Brassard tonight?

Also like what Dorsett has brought to the team particularly after being out for so long.

For all of the Boyle jokes and undue criticism, guy was fantastic tonight.

Who says "only?" I have given specific examples of penalties that came off of hard play and forecheck. All you have done is say that our team sucked. I get that you want to take the easier route (be lazy and just yell about ****), but you should try being objective.

Sure. 1 or 2 penalties. Not 6. Sorry, but that only happens by good pressure at ES. Period. End of story.

We had a very good half in the 1st, a very good half in the 2nd, and a complete period (for once) in the 3rd. Keep throwing water on the win. It's cute.

Am I missing something? Sometimes penalties are drawn in large correlation to play away from the puck as well. Players get away with a lot in the playoffs and fortunately for us, the Caps were penalized.

20 seconds away from a bang bang play from Ribeiro to Ward to Backstrom for his 2nd of the night. By the grace of god that puck didn't go in somehow...net was wide open. Anyone catch the play?

This. jeez. It was a good win, they weren't perfect, and have things to work on, but they played pretty well tonight, especially compared to Game 2. The series has been close so far.

Nhl .com finally got it right, "Baby Step-s"!!!

Gritty and scary win! Push the series to a tie on Wed! LGRR
