Honestly despite his goal I thought Stepan along with Callahan, Nash, and Del Zotto were pretty brutal tonight. Boyle actually looked real good though and Moore is awesome.

Agreed, hopefully Stepan gains some confidence and gets it going though. Him and Callahan have been fine defensively and on the PK at least.

And yeah, Boyle was awesome tonight. Won a lot of faceoffs for us, scored a goal and was great on the PK. But we're better without him :sarcasm:

Usually after Hank lets one up, he stands up, shakes his head forward (where you see the helmet move violently ) and then he barks at himself or Del Zotto.

I don't allow sous-chefs in my kitchen. Unless they're female. :sarcasm:

Pretty much the only time I baked something was at my friends house. The game was on and I ended up rocketing the flour and frosting on two different occasions up and all over her and the counter, wall, etc. at the excitement of a rangers goal and a penalty shot. Was hilarious cause I didn't have to clean the mess.

Anyway, this night is easier to fare when we won

He always looks like he has a lazy eye and is going to cry after giving up a goal. Not a lazy eye but he closes one more than the other, I don't know what to call that. Not really winking.

Was at the game. Here are some of my observations:

MDZ was our 6th defender tonight, Guy was not good. Moore is much more impressive. He was hesitant and did not make smart plays with the puck.

Staal played strong for his first game back. Expect better games to come. He helps a lot. Showed tonight in breaking up plays.

Secondary guys got it done tonight. Brassard, Boyle, Zuccarello, Asham, and Pyatt (who was not that bad) played well. Richards and Hagelin were the worst forwards on the team. Cally, Step and Nash playd well, drew a couple PPs and finally cashed in on the GWG.

They finally started calling the Caps on their dirty plays. High hits, hooks and holds were finally called. Outside of the first 2 PPs, it looked much better. PK was awesome as well.

Goals were not on Hank. DZ needed to clear that Green goal. They were changing and he had time. Allowed the puck to play him. Deflections are not the goalies fault. Losing a faceoff on the 3rd goal. Backstrom deflection was nice. Cannot blame anyone.

They collapsed less in the 3rd and it was their best period. Doing more of that in game 4 and it can become a best of 3 series. Thought they looked good overall. Keep shooting on Holtby. He showed he is not capable of coming up big. 4 goals and a post from Richie. Have to play this way in game 4. Hank will get us the W if we do.

Another great report from someone who was there.
If you push and stress Holtby, he wil be what he is, a very ordinary goaltender.

I love Olczyk trying to sell it. "You cannot tell if the puck completely crossed the line"

Um....yes you can?

Even then, it's a moot point because Hossa kicked it in.

What this video shows is two wrongs do indeed make a right. That Moore goal that wasn't: all he had to do was kick it or bat it in with his glove.

Lesson learned.

We should start missing the net entirely and then running goalie interference. Accorind to the two wrongs make a right rule, they'll say it broke through the net.

Dubinsky would score 70

Del Zotto would rack up 200 points.

Good to see all the fans that were crying "we suck omg this series is over, we can't score" are now back and happy. Don't give up on this team, we have been in every game and it's going to come down to a few bounces to determine who wins this series.

Moore was amazing tonight, Boyle was very good, Zuccs and Brassard were awesome as well.

I thought tonight's game was one of Nash's worst of the series even though he made that nice pass. He had so many opportunities to make something happen on offense and show us why he gets paid the big bucks, but his move(s) literally never worked on the Caps. He really does look injured and often slow sometimes, but hopefully he can turn it up a notch because we need him.

Del zotto looked pretty bad tonight, really slow and got caught flat footed a few times.

Watching Rangers in 60 right now. Kind of a weak goal for Boyle

I love weak goals. They make a person think of how awesome a strong goal from that player would be.

Weak? I like your posts a lot, but I think you are really missing it here.

I mean weak for Holtby. Don't know how he let that one in

Well, sure, but the tip of the hat has to go to Boyle for stressing Holtby. Holtby got all comfortable because nobody came in unexpected and dangerously. The puck was not passed off to a teammate who flubbed it, the puck was not shot into Holtby's chest, Boyle stressed him a bit, did the simple thing and got a goal.

Oh I'm not knocking Boyle. I think he's been great since his return and I'm glad, I've always been Team Boyle for the most part

see the bold..........scoring 4 goals in ONE game doenst mean sh-t. Come at me when they score 3+ in game 4 and win.......then you may be on to something.

At this point, washington is still the better of the scoring teams in this series.......and the team who has more offensive chances, resulting in more goals scored, gets to go to round 2.

I'm happy they won.......but they showed very little for me to get excited about the rest of this series. Washington is playing very well and their offensive ability is higher than that of the rangers.

Perfect, Im glad you'r another person that isn't excited about this team. Love when you guys get proven wrong. Just for the record, I wasn't saying this team is amazing at scoring goals, I was just using that as an example of what people have been whining about and how they just jump ship after a few rough games.

SO ****ing happy about this win!

some seriously interesting goal scorers, and I guess its safe to presume that Zucc will be the healthy scratch when Clowe recovers going by the confidence torts has in him.

Don´t think Zucc will be scratched. One of the best forwards with two assists in the game.
