I'll take the win, first time at MSG in a year, best part of the night was meeting Stu Bickel while waiting for the elevator in the parking garage and no one knew who he was. Nice guy, I got a pic with him trying to upload it here first

i was at the bar and only saw a bit of the richards pen on ovy. did ovy dive on that play? i only caught the last half of the replay and it was like ovechkin had his head shot off by a sniper and was just gliding on his knees decapitated and dead.

He definitely embellished.

who's that? HFNYR does not acknowledge that name anymore.

He got slapped up high on the chest, maybe even nicked Ovy's chin a little. Ovy then sold it.

That's a situation where, if anything, you call a penalty for slashing on Richards and then an unsportsmanlike conduct for diving on Ovy. Ovy could have continued without any deferral, the slap was not overwhelming, and he embellished.

Sorry Jonathan, but every time I read Brass God on this board...

I just always hear the SARD clashing violently with GOD

I always appreciate a good Mean Girls meme but I disagree with this one.

BRASS GOD SHALL LIVE ON!

Honestly, a buddy of mine played a few pick up games at a local LI rink and Asham showed up one day. He was toying with everyone else on the ice and every shot he took was top corner. We watch but we really don't appreciate how good everyone in the NHL is, even typical 4th line guys.

Played adult league with Murray Craven he didn't have a bad career like 700pts. Dude was just insane, really nice guy. Also played with an old guy who played for the Blues wish I remembered his name had to be 50-55 and was silky smooth, looked like a 20 year old out there.

Though there are some fourth liners whose talent I really question lol.

He def hit him up high but my god was it a hell of an acting job by Ovy.

1. Check the avatar. Moore and Brass God Baby!

2. Brass God is a thing. Can't stop it

3. Caps are a weak defensive team. When we control play in their zone, they can't stop us, and take penalties. If we get even strength offensive zone pressure, we will keep drawing penalties

Murray Craven was seriously under appreciated.

There are fourth liners like Asham and then there are fourth liners like Domi.

Asham has an NHL shot, there is a reason he was such a good scorer at the Junior level.

Its simply that the rest of his game is not conducive towards getting prime shooting opportunities on a frequent basis.

True. Are you a coach, by any chance?

To me, it's really hard as a coach to know how to use players like Asham. He has definitely slowed down, but like you say and I knew, the guy has skill.
No answers from me. Just very happy to see him cruise into the slot and looking for the pass. He got it, and Holtby may as well have not even been there.

Fun game to be at.

Highlights: Rangers win.
Looking over Steve Fehr's shoulder and reading his texts and emails, lol.
Meeting Kreider. (And Gordie Clark)

By the way, anyone know if Eric Fehr is related to the Fehr Monsters at all? I don't think they are, but Steve's iPhone wallpaper is a picture of an Eric Fehr jersey, which I find self-obsessive and plain weird if they're not related.

It appears that you saw what I saw. Maybe we all saw the same thing. Funny how sometimes I read a report from someone who was actually there, and I wonder why I saw it differently.
In this case, I formed the same opinions as you, and so did the majority here.

Almost a concensus at Rangers HF Boards? Wow.

It is indeed a rare occasion when almost everyone in agreement on HF.

And, yes, there have been many times when I've had a different analysis on games that I've attended compared to the viewers who watch at home. The only area of tonight's game where I am in slight disagreement with some HF posters is the play of Pyatt. I thought he was more involved, and he was forced to play on the PK tonight due to Powe's injury and Callahan taking a penalty and did a respectable job.

I thought Staal did really well for his first game back.

He was better than he was last year right after coming back from injury. Good sign.

really?

i thought he was pretty terrible for the most part. just slow to react to stuff, and didn't handle anything in tight well.

mostly timing stuff, needs to play. tough situation to be in, start off in a do or die game.

amazing thing here though, is that we've hit what, 4 or 5 posts now?

This could easily be a 3-0 series.

I think the biggest difference though is that we played a lot better in the offensive zone tonight than the previous 2 games.

Actually, getting some chances and dictating the play. Also, the PP looked better. Moore should stay on that blueline forever. And Girardi should be banished from the PP point.

I see stories of people meeting the players at the Garden all the time and I'm just like "wtf the most famous person I've met there is Dancing Larry"

MDZ was atrocious. He was a big reason we were getting hemmed in our zone. He foot speed is a real issue. I think there is a good chance he won't be on the roster next year.

I am glad Asham, Brassard and MZA had the games they did. It should make it obvious that the move is to insert Clowe for Pyatt. Though he might go in for Powe who is likely hurt.

I sit in a star-studded section, serious.

Rod Gilbert is there like every week. Today, we had Matteau, Glenn Anderson, Eddie Giacomin, Brian Mullen. And Al Trautwig has visited the section twice, lol.

Larry's a cool guy  Met/hung out with him multiple times. He was at my friend's wedding
Very cool guy. Loves metal too so we had a nice little conversation about it
