Post-Game Talk: ECQF Game 3: WSH at New York Rangers - Swiss Cheese Neckbeard

Stalman was up and down...couple of scary stick handling plays.

In the beginning of the game specifically. Right in from of Hank.

Del Zotto was terrible today. Girardi wasn't that great either.

Was laughing when Asham score top shelf. Loved it.

Brassard was great tonight.

The team played a much better game offensively compared to the previous 2.

Nash needs to play with a chip. He's skating around like it's game 1 of the season.

Looking forward to seeing Clowe here. I wasn't a fan of bringing Clowe in, but after rationalizing the trade, I welcomed him. Now, he needs to show what he can do in the playoffs to justify the trade.

Good to see that Staal took a hard hit involving his head hitting the glass, but was okay.

Another great thing was seeing Asham receive the puck in the slot, moving in at exactly the right time and place, and placing it into the net.

Take note, Tortorella.

Big bodies in front= GOOOOOOD

Zucc only got 11 minutes.

Yup. Torts really cannot coach, and this coming from a fan of his.

Yet he still gets 2 assists.

For my 18th birthday my mom and sister made a layered red white and blue cake with the Rangers logo on it and mini hockey players... Rangers decor, napkins, plates... yup.

I'm pretty good at cake-drawing...I'm tempted to do something crazy, and detailed; like...Hank flashin dat glove, or something.

:: fast-forward:: ...purple mess, cake tastes like crap cause I'm a n00b baker. Flour. everywhere.

Thats always been his playing style.

That doesn't mean he shouldn't fix any of his weaknesses. It seems like he gives up more goals off the face-off than any other goalie.

He did a better-than-expected job at improving his glove-hand. Maybe he could stand a bit out as well.

Hrm.

Wore Winter Classic Callahan "C" jersey or game one: 3-1 loss
Wore Authentic Lundqvist Home for game two: 1-0 OT Loss
Wore Marc Staal Authentic Hartford Wolfpack #6: 4-3 Win

Am I rolling with the Staal for game 4? Or rockin' the Richards Winter Classic jersey?

Let's bake a cake together  I'd be in the corner mumbling something about the flour coming to get me.

QFT.

A lot of you need to take a step back and stop hoping for us to fail so you can push your personal agendas until after we're actually out of it. Seriously, getting old. Why even watch this team if you just want them to fail so you can be right?

It's a defense mechanism.

I thought we played much better tonight than the last 2 games. There was a lot less flubbing passes in the neutral zone and more driving to the net. I still don't like that we collapse and give their pointmen so much time and space.

Also, Staal was great for not having played in 2 months. Already back to being one of our best defensemen at getting the puck out of the zone.

Moore is our best option for the point on the PP! He shoots heavy, low and on net unlike MDZ and Girardi! Glad to see Torts acknowledge that and play him on the first unit.

Caps fans (a lot of them) are a bunch of arrogant dbags. This series has been pretty even, I don't think the Capitals have played as well as their fans (hell, even our own fans) like to think. If Stepan, Nash, Callahan, Richards and MDZ can get their heads out of their ***** this is a whole different series going forward.

Want my advice? Ship a jersey every game day to me. We win that way. ;)

Question - for Wednesday's game, I will be in a hotel that dooesn't have NBC Sports. I have my lap top. Is there a place I can stream the game? It comes on at 4:30 PM my time.

Question 2 - who skates faster, Michael Del Zotto or my grandmother? He looks awful BTW.

I'm waiting for Kershaw to tell us how Brassard was actually bad today despite his gorgeous 3 points, or how he will now suck after this. Or will he just ignore it. Either way, Kershaw would never give Brassard credit. It'll make him look bad.

Brassard was great, but he was almost a big time goat with that RIDICULOUS giveaway late in the game...you see that? yowza.

DZ had a decent game, I thought he played physical when he had to. A couple of bobbles and missing the net ... but otherwise decent.

I wore my Staal shirt tonight too. Def gonna rock it on Wednesday.

I predict the Gaborik trade (which I loved from the beginning), in retrospect, will be looked back on as another Sather victory. Brassard is bringing it, Dorsett can bring it from a variety of perspectives (it's only game 2 back for him), and John Moore is a top 4 D. Can't see how that isn't a win for the NYR, coupled with unloading a 7.5/mill contract. I liked Gaborik, but this adds great depth to the organization.

Asham has an NHL shot, there is a reason he was such a good scorer at the Junior level.

Its simply that the rest of his game is not conducive towards getting prime shooting opportunities on a frequent basis.

Big dude and kinda slow but he can shoot em. That made me jump outta my seat. He can be real good if given the light of day

Honestly, a buddy of mine played a few pick up games at a local LI rink and Asham showed up one day. He was toying with everyone else on the ice and every shot he took was top corner. We watch but we really don't appreciate how good everyone in the NHL is, even typical 4th line guys.

Goals..gotta love em..

Asham scores...now I've seen it all..

2 assists for zuke is a confidence booster..

Oh yeah and Brian Boyle was great. HAHA to the people who thought he would make us a worse team. Wins faceoffs and plays on the PK, that is what you expect out of Boyle. It's great when he's able to chip in offensively because it doesn't happen too often :P
