Interesting. Hope the moves work out tonight. Not overly confident. But I hope they make it interesting for G4

The 3rd line has just been a massive disappointment. They're generating as much as the 4th line while being worse at allowing opportunities. I don't know that these moves work out and it really just feels like re-arranging chairs and hoping for the best. I'm hoping maybe Nosek on the 3rd line can help. Despite him being the other whipping boy he's been one of their better generators at 5v5 despite getting every start in the d-zone.

Really need the top guys to show up though. Bergeron and Hall are the only guys to find the back of the net, while our top 2 goal scorers have been non-existent. Throw JDB in there as well since he was tied w/ Bergeron in goal this year.

Wagner's back? In a must win game?

Having a Fred Sanford moment over here.

Wagner?

In what regard? from a relative perspective:

View attachment 541727

The one area where Foligno is worse is GF% rel, but the PDO would indicate that he's been unlucky while Blidh has been slightly lucky. The Bruins are significantly worse with Blidh on the ice. They're worse with Foligno on the ice as well from a relative perspective, but not nearly as bad.
I believe this is due to Blidh trying to force/create anything (which could be more controlled) whereas Foligno makes the maximum conservative play at all times. Such as shooting the puck from the blue line or behind the goal line. There is reason he has two goals and it isn't being unlucky.

Yes, earlier the 3rd line was touted as being the x-factor going into the playoffs, the line to contribute when the top 2 didn't, the line every contender needs.
Back then they were playing great using their size to keep possesion down low. Add that to the list of things to fix in game 3.

I'm fine with Wagner, and really don't mind Foligno sticking either. The 4th line actually generated a few decent chances the first 2 games, and cycled better than most. It was rare, but they did manage to have some solid shifts. If the top 6 produces then the bottom 6 probably doesn't stick out as much...but here we are complaining about role players.

Same as every other playoff series; if the 1st line doesn't get going, and the physicality is missing throughout the entire roster, they're screwed.

Bruins healthy didn't stand a chance... Lindholm out Reilly in... And the new savior... Wagner. Got to feel bad for Swayman starting his first NHL Playoffs game in those conditions. Bergeron will always give his best no matter what... but deep down he knows this is the end of the road.

I mean spin it however you want, but Jaffe even said on Morning Bru that he doesn't think the coaching staff has any faith/confidence in him. Blidh BTW also has 2 goals on the year. Not to mention 8 of his 9 points game in his first 16 games played. Hell 4 of his 9 points came in a 3 game stretch.

While true they're on our ice and the playoffs are a different animal....Carolina was the 2nd best road team in the NHL this year and Boston was the 12th best home team this year.

Playoffs are a clean sheet. Doesn't matter what was done in the regular season. It matters what you do now.

I choose to believe the boys will rise to the occasion and get back in this thing

Law of averages says we have to win at least one against Carolina right? Montreal won one off TB for cripes sake.

Just due to the fact that it's the NHL and on any given night the worse team can beat a better team at least once due to bounces or whatever. Bruins have to be due one win here. IDC if it's because Carolina let's their foot off the gas for a game like Boston has in their previous runs before.

Just give us one.

I‘m certainly no professional coach.. scout.. player.. etc and I hope I’m proven wrong but these changes make me scratch the head saying wtf ..

Perfection line ? Was struggling even at the start of the year ( trying to catch lightning in a bottle I guess ) Either way doesn’t help second line. 3rd line struggling but has been very effective at times during season ( Panic and throw in Wagner like that fixes the 3rd and 4th line problems when Nosek has been out scored by Frederic and Wagner somehow gets the nod a head of rookie McLaughlin when he’s been playing good for us )
The only thing I agree with is giving Swayman a shot because has lateral movement is way better then Ullmark and they’ve been exposing this.

I mean it's been the same result so far between BOS/CAR in the playoffs as it was the regular season. We all want to believe they'll rise to the occasion and we hope they do.

I can see Lazar moving up to 3rd line center with Nosek dropping down and Coyle moving to wing should the bruins continue to struggle during the game.
