Mike Reilly on the top pair?

No. This cannot be?

I have not looked at the projected lines and I think it will have to stay that way. I just read Nosek on the 3rd line as well?

Is Bruce about to track down Kuhlman and toss a Debrusk jersey on him as well?

Bruce is letting himself get bullied worse than the players.

I remember Berube crying about Bergeron in the face-off circle during a post game and the next few games Bergeron was thrown out of the dot more than normal. Berube also complained after game 3 about the amount of penalties they had taken. Looking at it (not including bench minors or delay of game)

3 games / 16 penalties = 5.3 penalties/gp
4 games / 9 penalties = 2.2 penalties /gp

Kind of crazy that after his comments their penalties per game basically dropped by half. Now I'm not saying its why they lost in 2019, but to ignore that a coach making noise (the squeaky wheel gets the grease) doesn't have an impact is foolish.
That is not why the Bruins lost but it did help to ensure 7 games in 2019. Officials are humans and make mistakes, and are influenced by these comments and the crowds reactions to plays. We've seen it in Montreal for decades.

Foligno stays in? Blidh gets passed over by a guy who was in Providence all year because he was that bad?

Reilly top pairing? 5+ again for the Canes.

I feel for Swayman. Tonight is going to be ROUGH.

Honestly I think Wagner is was in providence for cap reasons. Putting Wagner in the AHL saved the Bruins just over $1 million in cap space. I also don't get the love for Blidh because when he's on the ice the Bruins are outshot, outscored and out-chanced. In fact of Bruins forward with at least 20 games his relative numbers were dead last in SF%, SCF%, HDCF% on the season. He was also 5th worst in GF%

Sure the guy throws a lot of hits, but that's typically because when he's on the ice the other team controls the puck.

I don’t even hate Wagner in there? Just not over Blidh while Foligno continues to collect a paycheck and nothing else.

How does Blidh compare to Foligno? Thats the move I’m not understanding mostly.

Correct, its not why they lost (which I mentioned) but it certainly had an impact on the rest of the series going forward.

As much as I hate Foligno, he's actually getting pretty decent defensive results. He's just an absolute zero offensively. Blidh is louder but the 4th line with him was worse defensively.

I kind of like Wagner being in. he had 11 hits in his one game this year. The 4th line is going to get buried in the d zone and need to bang a little. Maybe Wagner realizes that playing well enough to slot in and stay in for the playoffs means another $850k next year somewhere and we get his best.

There’s a massive difference between using the ignore list for trolls and annoying posters who use HFB for their word vomit and people you just don’t agree with.
Yeah maybe. I remember the old espn boards. Now, there was some funny stuff in there. And some of which you speak.

In what regard? from a relative perspective:

The one area where Foligno is worse is GF% rel, but the PDO would indicate that he's been unlucky while Blidh has been slightly lucky. The Bruins are significantly worse with Blidh on the ice. They're worse with Foligno on the ice as well from a relative perspective, but not nearly as bad.

I'm fine with Wags in, I wish Blidh was in for Foligno and McMuf in for Nosek. Although Ully wasn't the big problem Sway deserves a chance to bring us back and at the very least they should be looking at getting the kids feet wet. Not big on the move with Pasta, I hope JDB and Hall can find that chemistry and surprise us. Sadly I think Blidh will be the new Accari and jump ship for a real chance next season.

Play our game and find it within to stay disciplined and we can even this series up, Go B's!!

Interesting. Hope the moves work out tonight. Not overly confident. But I hope they make it interesting for G4

Yea, I’ve had serious concerns with Cassidy since the blues series. I think he’s a good coach, not a great one. For all his flaws, Claude julien *never* let the bruins lose a series in less than 7 games.

Cassidy is missing that extra edge that could make him a great coach, he’s mentally not tough enough to out fox when the going gets tough.
This is a bit simplistic, imo. Losing or winning a series is down to so much more than the coach.

I'm not here to defend Cassidy. I think he has his strong points and he has his failings. But I think a few too many people here (not necessarily saying you, KnightofB) are playing armchair psychologist. If he's as terrible as some people say, I think a word to management from Bergeron, Marchand et al would spell the end of him behind the bench. The fact that he's still here leads me to believe that the core of the team have confidence in him.

That said, he probably will get replaced if the Bruins lose this series, and that will probably be the right move, if for no other reason than to get some fresh blood and fresh perspective behind the bench.

Bruce game plan:
Rask standing on his head
Perfection line to score on the PP
Protect 1 goal lead
Clogg the neutral zone.

Fast forward to reality:
No Rask
Perfection line didn't play together all year long
Can't make a zone entry on the PP
With Carlo's regression defense is overflooded with bottom pair Ds.
