Enjoy the game!I’ll be taking a break from the forum during the game tonight, so I’ll get my banter out of the way before hand, haha
I'm heading to the pub for the game, normally don't do that much but I want to get there before the Oilers game, haha.Enjoy the game!
(hope we all do!)
To protect you from the people that you don't agree with?Going to need the A Game tonight from the Mods.
No. This cannot be?Mike Reilly on the top pair?
Bergeron has been this series. Both at Carolina players and the officials. Rarely has be ever been this... involved... which I believe speaks volumes.I feel like that is more the players and leadership. Bergeron isn't a fiery guy.
You need that kind of concentration to be able to pick out the Bruins player in the scrum who deserves the only penalty, especially if it creates a 5-on-3 for the Canes. That takes focus!View attachment 541607
Francois St. Laurent looks serious.
I hope his vendetta is with Brind'Amour !
That is not why the Bruins lost but it did help to ensure 7 games in 2019. Officials are humans and make mistakes, and are influenced by these comments and the crowds reactions to plays. We've seen it in Montreal for decades.I remember Berube crying about Bergeron in the face-off circle during a post game and the next few games Bergeron was thrown out of the dot more than normal. Berube also complained after game 3 about the amount of penalties they had taken. Looking at it (not including bench minors or delay of game)
3 games / 16 penalties = 5.3 penalties/gp
4 games / 9 penalties = 2.2 penalties /gp
Kind of crazy that after his comments their penalties per game basically dropped by half. Now I'm not saying its why they lost in 2019, but to ignore that a coach making noise (the squeaky wheel gets the grease) doesn't have an impact is foolish.
L. M. F. A. O.
Foligno stays in? Blidh gets passed over by a guy who was in Providence all year because he was that bad?
Reilly top pairing? 5+ again for the Canes.
I feel for Swayman. Tonight is going to be ROUGH.

Honestly I think Wagner is was in providence for cap reasons. Putting Wagner in the AHL saved the Bruins just over $1 million in cap space. I also don't get the love for Blidh because when he's on the ice the Bruins are outshot, outscored and out-chanced. In fact of Bruins forward with at least 20 games his relative numbers were dead last in SF%, SCF%, HDCF% on the season. He was also 5th worst in GF%
Sure the guy throws a lot of hits, but that's typically because when he's on the ice the other team controls the puck.

I don’t even hate Wagner in there? Just not over Blidh while Foligno continues to collect a paycheck and nothing else.
How does Blidh compare to Foligno? Thats the move I’m not understanding mostly.
Yeah maybe. I remember the old espn boards. Now, there was some funny stuff in there. And some of which you speak. There’s a massive difference between using the ignore list for trolls and annoying posters who use HFB for their word vomit and people you just don’t agree with.

Wagner's back? In a must win game?
Having a Fred Sanford moment over here.
In what regard? from a relative perspective:

The one area where Foligno is worse is GF% rel, but the PDO would indicate that he's been unlucky while Blidh has been slightly lucky. The Bruins are significantly worse with Blidh on the ice. They're worse with Foligno on the ice as well from a relative perspective, but not nearly as bad.
This is a bit simplistic, imo. Losing or winning a series is down to so much more than the coach.Yea, I’ve had serious concerns with Cassidy since the blues series. I think he’s a good coach, not a great one. For all his flaws, Claude julien *never* let the bruins lose a series in less than 7 games.
Cassidy is missing that extra edge that could make him a great coach, he’s mentally not tough enough to out fox when the going gets tough.
