We can turn it around if we can muster some offense...We have line change advantage for games 3 and 4...were at home...lets hope it all helps the Rangers even the series.

what about when it hits the post then goes in?:p:

Then its a goal. But if it hits the post and doesnt go in, then its nothing but a missed shot. This argument has come up amongst many hockey conversations with friends of mine. You could just as easily say that it only hit the post because the goalie gave you nothing else to shoot for.

Who said anything about a goal being scored? You were beaten and bailed out. Never once said anything about a goal.
Doesnt mean a damn thing unless it goes in. In basketball if you blow by a defender and miss a layup its the same thing. You have to score

A team that can only muster 1 goal in two playoff games does not deserve to advance in the post-season.

Could have been erased with a goal or two. Style must change. Open it up a little more, stop these guys from being terrified of riding the pine; I guarantee more goals will come. If the PP strategy is opened up more, more goals will come. Someone just said the Rangers only shoot if it's a wide open shot; that's their problem in any offensive situation.

They put plenty of muffin shots to Holtby's chest.

Back at MSG - a whole new ball of wax.

Bummer of an ending today, but all the more reason to take the next one.

On a side note, Backstrom is sooooooooo overrated. That guy doesn't scare me one bit in this series. And to think Caps fans were trying to justify him being as good as Toews in the playoff discussion thread is an absolute joke. Shows the average brain size of Caps fans.

Still better than anyone we have on our team.

Jesus dude, you are one of the biggest sucks going right now. Why do you even bother to watch games or post on here if everything you say is negative? And you gloat about being right when the Rangers play like crap. May as well change your name to Nancy

There are people on this site that don't have Kershaw on ignore? Weird. Although he's right if we're comparing PPs only. These teams are pretty even everywhere else.

They are up 2-0 i dont think they give 2 ***** what we think of them

Home line change advantage helps. However... they have to regroup, like seriously regroup... and develop a style that works (and NO, NOT block shots all day long and dump and chase... ok... block shots but quit the dumping )

And take it in with speed.... They bunch up and slow down lots in the O zone.

McDonagh final shift 03:04.
He had been on for 02:03 when Torts decided it was good plan to keep him on the ice after the whistle

That is brutal. It would be utterly horrific to put a player out that long at the start of the game, when a player is rested, but to do it in OT after he played a full game... ****ing brutal coaching

What will the excuses be around here when they lose the next one?

Oh, we can update our stat when playing at Verizon Center in the playoffs:

10 games - 9 goals scored

For **** sake. The rangers got one of the weakest rosters in the playoffs. I mean u got Nash and 15 third liners. U got one great Dman and he is injured. The rest of the Ds are just very average (or worse). And ofc an elite goalie. Torts got this group of players into the playoffs this year, last year and the year before that. There are so many strong teams in this League that dosent make the playoffs like Tampa Bay. Still everyone complains and whine when the rangers loose. Its like its Torts fault that Mcd made a Pejorative Slured play. Yeah i know he is tired, but its the 4th/OT period. U dnt give the caps a pp in OT stupid. Gods everyones knows that, well not Mcd.

Torts is a good Coach. He has won the cup, he got a plan and he sticks to it (no matter what). Then u say that the pp suck blablablablabla buhu who cares. The rangers play defense first style of hockey (blocking shots, checking, work along the Boards etc) And it Works. We are in the playoffs, we dnt need a good pp as long as we play good defense.

Perhaps u want Joe Sucko as your Coach. He is rly good at offensive tanking hockey that will guarantee u some rly good draft picks. And do u know what? He is unemployed :)

And the fact that our offense was completely incapable of getting the puck and helping get it out of the defensive zone wasn't a factor?

All I'm saying is you no matter what scenario took place, if the Caps scored, you guys are going to blame Torts (and I do not like Torts as a coach myself). Either McD was out too long and he should have taken him off or McD came off and we have the 2nd/3rd pairing out vs Ovechkin. He can't win.

And it's McDonagh.

How do you know that? McDonaugh was flat as a limp balloon when he skated to the box. You can't see that as a coach and think he will play to his full capabilities then you made a tactical mistake.
100% of the 2nd and 3rd pairing is still much better than a player that is so gassed that he can't even hit the glass.
Look, I'm not blaming this loss on McDonaugh, or entirely on Torts, but this cost us in that situation. The game should have been over before the OT started or when we had the PP in OT. That is on Sullivan, and this guy needs to go.
