I thought all three pairs were. Specifically Lindgren, Trouba and both Nemeth and Schneider. I think that one adjustment they need to make is that if there's no play, don't hold onto it in the corner, chip it high out. Do not even hold onto it for more than 1 second. Keep it moving.
Trouba was OK. I thought Miller took two periods to get going. Lingren was playing fantastically before he left the game for a stretch, I thought.

IDK. I thought the Pens did what they were always going to do--throw a ton of pucks at the net. Crosby really took it to another level for a stretch in the third and none of our superstars had an answer.

I think we could've/should've won--especially with the overturned goal. But it's not the end of the world to lose the way we did. I think there are a lot of really obvious lessons from that game that I could see the team learning--very, very slowly--as it went on. Kreider was waaaay too tight. He was playing like he took that 'what it takes to win' shit too seriously--icing pucks when he had time and space, scrumming and losing his cool after whistles--very un-kreiderlike. He's gotta loosen up. Panarin started to shoot toward the end. Strome had some really good plays throughout the game.

And Gallant too has some things to reconsider. Between Nemeth and Schnieder, I thought Nemeth had the better game and it wasn't close. I wouldn't be surprised to see Braun in. Hunt--reigning First Star of the Game--is an option to come in (hopefully for Rooney). Brodzinki would seem a way better fit against the pens as a speedy guy who shoots a lot.

The fact that you are so adamant about your stance is hilarious. I mean, you do realize who you are, right?

Someone that shits on a goalie when he deserves to be shit on. Unlike you who just on a goalie that had the second most saves in NHL history and was at fault for 0 goals against.

Losing at home we instantly lost home ice advantage. Winning in shitsburgh is going to be tougher than you think, esp with the ref homerism. It was a great learning experience for our young team and will continue to be as long as we can win a game or two before being ousted. The penguins may have a simple game but they continue to beat teams with it and beat us tonight. Honestly besides the 1st period i think our team was terrible. Igor kept us in that game.

True on to the next one, but i still have little faith now with lindgren hurt, braun in, nemeth staying, our top players lost and confused.
First playoff game in years for most. This is a good road team and hopefully learn from this loss. Like I said this team is resilient.
though I do understand what your saying, but maybe we can play the rest of the series the way we played the first period

scratch Rooney and Reaves for Hunt and Brodzinski

“setting the tone” is meaningless if you only have energy to do it for 15 minutes

Amen, Gallant was getting bad matchups with the 4th having the last shift, I can’t imagine what it would look like Saturday in Pittsburgh.

The Panarin line played well today but I don't think Panarin or Copp are very healthy right now. I think you have to keep them together for now, but moving up Kakko to replace Vatrano has to be in coach's head. If that line starts off where they left off this game that switch needs to happen during game 2.

I have a feeling the refs and the pens blew their load this game. If Kreider and Zib can get their head out of their asses the rangers should be able to take the next four. Game one is out of the way and I think they start burying more of their chances from here on it. Maybe a bit of nerves for this game with the team being so inexperienced in the playoffs.

Get Hunt in. Reaves died after the first period. He can't keep the pace up.

This game really exposed how unnatural this team is. We are two years too soon. We haven't had nearly any time for an entire rebuilds worth of prospects to become impact NHL players and fill out our roster. .

Hunt in for Reaves

Brodzinski in for Vatrano

Jones in for an injured Lindgren

Braun in for Nemeth are the moves I'd make for Game 2

Kreider-Zib-Laf
Panarin-Copp-Strome
Goodrow-Chytil-Kakko
Hunt-Rooney-Brodzinski

Miller-Fox
Jones-Trouba
Braun-Schneider

The Rangers were getting pinned in deep in their own end lots tonight. A lot of that was due to the horrible 4th line and aggressive pinching by Pittsburgh's defense in the offensive zone. Get a guy like Jones in there to help the transition game and make them adjust when the Rangers suddenly double their number of odd man rushes for.

This will be a quick series if Gallant keeps trotting Reaves and Nemeth out there.

You can tell that Panarin is not 100%.
Back in the game where he got hurt Vince tweeted that he had a heat pad on his back. Prolly shouldn’t be playing at all.

We were severely outplayed from the end of the 1st period. Igor was the only reason this game was close.
Rangers were only badly outplayed in the second period. The third period and first two overtimes were even. Third OT Penguins were better.

Neither him or Copp are 100%.

Not many players are 100% at this point of the season.
