Wild. I use two non-standard web browsers, and ESPN+ won't let me log in. I can get it to send me a code, but it won't log me in. Tried MS Edge just now, and I can log in, but it doesn't recognize my ESPN+ subscription, so it sends me to a login page that never loads. Also, the billing page never loads, either. That's three web browsers that ESPN+ won't work with.
I'm using the app on Android so maybe that's the key?

Which tells us it is really an injury....
Looked from the video of Bergy talking to the team he was dressed like he came in to support the team and for a workout. Let’s see how the Bruins do in game two but you may see him later in the series.

I loved when Bert did this (posted by @missingchicklet)

"LOL at the replay of Bert taking the Panther's stick and slamming it on the ground at the Bs bench. What a beauty."
You probably got a better view of what was going on away from the puck than we did on TV, but it seemed like Bert got fed up with Cousins, so rather than take a stupid penalty he responded by stick theft and slamming it on ground to accentuate his displeasure. As expected, Bert made the most of his first playoff game.

Great post, sums it up nicely.

Seems that Ullmark's game is being overlooked as the most important part of this win.
Logged back in to say that another unsung hero I forgot about was Hall, some nice passes though I hope he shoots more. But his constant backchecking to break up plays was outstanding, he gets it. Great example to set for his teammates.

Florida was playing pond hockey, throwing pucks at the net hoping for deflections and lucky bounces.

Hard to defend that type of hockey. Bruins where structured when possible and adjusted in the third.

The best take for me was as a team, they know they played a C game. Florida is toast
I believe that what they do
Jack said Florida leads the league in shots on goal
i wish the Bruins did that last night to Lyon.

ESPN said a few times that Grizz was a healthy scratch? Do the Bruins brass really think he is to small and weak for this series? While Florida did crash the net a bit and get some rebound chances I still dont see the logic of this move. If this was the plan, why did Orlov not play alot with McAvoy down the stretch? They didn't look so hot together last night.

Bert looked like he was having a blast. He and Pasta clearly have chemistry and are buds.

I thought the first two periods were a bit sloppy.

Nick F and Forbort were OK for their first game back.

I just hope no one gets hurt. Panthers were a bit dirty.

I'm guessing the BRUINS are high up on the list with attempted shots on goal. So many of their shots are either blocked or miss the net entirely.

How are people watching the games on the interzones? I don't have regular TV, and I can't watch the games live anyway, have to watch later. I signed up for ESPN+ last night, paid the $10, only to start it up on my Roku and have it tell me there's too much traffic so we shut down ESPN+. This was at midnight last night. I knew I wasn't going to be able to prevent spoilers (Youtube feed etc) so I just went and watched the highlights.

Is there a better way? Anyone else have that experience with ESPN+? I'm probably going to dispute the charges with my bank. Also FYI I'm out of market in NY.
I use ESPN + during the regular season. I didn't think they carried the playoffs on plus. I signed up for Sling TV. They carry all the networks that carry the playoffs.

I’m team Gryz, but you understand why they might shy away from Gryz this series. It was a f***ing war in front of Ullmark all night. If that is how Florida is gonna play: low quality shots with chaos in front, I don’t think it matters if Gryz has a 60% Corsi and Forbort has a 45% Corsi…Forbort is going to do a better job in making sure those point shots stay easy.

He and Coyle were the best Bruins forwards.
Exactamundo! Let the boys waste their energy on hitting in the first few games. When they get a bit tuckered out, put Gryz in for Forbort for the final finishing touch.
If Gryz were in there last night he'd have been hammered early and often. The D that the Bruins had
in there were prepared and adjusted to the speed accordingly.
Gryz will get in there when the games become more civilized and speed is warranted over physicality.
Really glad that we won, and that we still have, or will have an undamaged Gryz to put in there.

Yea definitely a head scratcher.

If anything the dmen were too slow to move/move the puck out and kept getting crushed by the forechecking panthers.

the last time I felt this good after a game 1 in a series was 2009 vs Carolina.

and the 5v5 offense seemed to suffer a hell of a lot as well. Not sure how much of that was Bergeron, but I just don't get it.

Hall looked great and had a few great setups that Freddy couldn't finish. Once Bergy's back in the lineup and Freddy likely gets bumped and he's got either Bert or Zacha on the RW, that line is going to explode

That was hilarious.

And that pass was top tier. I had no idea that Todd's nephew was selected by Detroit 58 overall, or that Bertie was the MVP for the Griffins when they won the Calder Cup in 2017

Bergy being questionable for tomorrow is a step in the right direction.

Some folks are still scarred from how bad he was last year when he was recovering from concussion, and let's not sugar coat it, he really wasn't himself during that time. Others will never warm to him as he is perceived to be too passive. I can sympathize with the latter especially - I would like to see a little more fire in his game as he's more than big enough to effectively impose himself physically on others - but I put that to one side and simply acknowledge just how good he's been this season as the Bruins' leading, dependable shutdown defender and how great it's been to see him bounce back to and beyond his old self. Carlo still has the very occasion brain fade, but I can wear that. The vast majority of the time, he's a rock.
I was watching a video on YouTube where they interview NHL players while they're on the ice with them. This one player ( I can't remember who it was) said that Carlo is the toughest defenseman that he plays against because of his reach etc. He really got the point across that he doesn't look forward to games against him in particular.

So go back to the same lineup...for game 2?
Sit Grz again?

Should the Bruins continue to start Ullmark or continue the rotation?
