AV has fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with his safety blanket Nate Thompson; just like he did with Tanner Glass.

The entire lineup is being constructed around Nate 2C Thompson's unnecessary presence.

All three goals for this series have came with Giroux and Couturier on ice.


The first line has taken some heat. But the team has played like 120 minutes without either on ice... and scored zero times.

There’s nothing fun about this series. It’s been some of the least entertaining and most frustrating hockey I’ve ever watched.

The worst part is that it doesn’t have to be this way.

Habs fan here, this is the habs way. They try to play teams to sleep since our offense cant carry the team. Only down fall to this stye of play is Hart is playing great hockey so we cant sneak 2-3 goals in behind him like we did to Murray.

My answer is I don't know because I haven't seen Grant at 4C. I want to see that to make an informed decision on which of the Terrible Two we keep dressing. But there can only be one.

Any line Grant is on is actually a 4th line and Thompson had the most 5v5 icetime and most 5v5 shifts of any C.


And I did hold back 15-20%. I didn't even mention FH.

JVR would make sense at 2LW and Laughton at 3C, but Farabee is probably better at 3LW against the Habs with Grant as 3C.

why would grant be better as 3c against the habs. when Farabee, Laughton, and JVR are all better players and have played better all season at the suggested positions than Grant. Just curious as I logically can't solve this puzzle

This. It's so f***ing obvious.

Laughton had like 89 turnovers last game. No reason not to try JVR on the 2nd line with guys that can actually create plays and then improve your bottom 6 C depth.

I blame fletcher in that regard. Don't give AV any excuse to play garbage players. Actually, its patricks fault lol because we never would've gotten a center (maybe just one).

Just how you accentuate Joel Farabee's strengths, I think they can help accentuate JVR's more." JVR was one of the better play drivers during the year but he is not regulated to a 4th line role. It doesn't matter who he plays with on the current bottom 6...ALL of the bottom 6 playesr are 4th liners. Raffl, thompson, grant, pitlick, and nak are all 4th line type players that can fill in the 3rd line if needed. However, we have all of them in the bottom 6 and we honestly expected them to score or drive play.

ya we have to survive or out play montreal in the first 10. This is extremely key to the gamee. Can't give montreal any confidence to play their game. Would be great to see our team play with some confidence as well.
