Did anyone notice that Sportsnet posted the entire Game 7 from 2013 onto YouTube? Love them pushing that narrative this series. Morons.
I'm not gonna lie to you, I went to their YouTube page expecting to see the whole series there, thinking someone else on here got their undies in a twist over nothing.

It's literally just one video, titled 'Watch the game 7 Leafs collapse against Bruins in 2013 Playoffs' - Come on, guys...

Seems like Boston fans are excited to match the bottom pair, pretty sure they dont know about Dermott yet.
Yep, every post that's along the lines of "I can't wait to feast on their bottom pair" makes me laugh. Boy are they going to be surprised when our little demon head juker dominates their bottom 6
Must be nice living in the ignorant bubble, where in such a dynamic, fast moving game, the only thing that matters is scoring.

There's really no hope for some.
Must be nice living in the ignorant bubble, refuting every quantifiable stat that shows Komarov is one of the worst forwards this year, and praising him for code words like gritty or veteran because then you can't lose an argument that you can't quantify.

There's really no hope for Komarov fanboys like yourself.

Wow, really? When was this posted? Within last few days or quite some time ago?

The team as a whole couldn't care less about what happened 5 years ago, but yes i agree, it's a narrative the media is pushing for added exposure and sort of a backstory to this matchup. Not really surprised

Look, we all like Uncle Leo, but there is no basis for saying that he would be a better forward than Johnsson on the fourth line, and plenty (ie speed, hands, intelligence) that suggest Andreas is the better bet.

I was fine with him being used in a shutdown role earlier in the year, and am comfortable enough with him in his current 4th-line position. Intangibles that can't be quantified are still important to some coaches (such as Babcock) and I've been glad that our rebuild has been managed through the perspective of developing quality people and players, which starts with things like responsibility and work ethic.

It's important to remember where we are in the rebuild when shitting on guys like Hyman, Leo, Polak and Brown. I wouldn't say I'm a "Komarov Fanboy", but I certainly see the value at this point in time in the Leafs icing veterans who have been around the block a few times, even if they're not necessarily the most skilled options available.

If things play out as dark as people here seem to be expecting, though, then I do certainly hope we'll see a shake-up, with Johnsson's youth being inserted back into the lineup.

2010? In 2013, they f***ing choked away a 1 goal lead and let the Blackhawks go up 1 all in the last 2 minutes of a game 7 if BOS wins or Chicago wins Cup game. That's so much more worse than a round 1 choke, and blows my mind it isn't talked about more. Yet the Leafs round 1 choke of the same 2013 playoffs gets brought up 5 years later.. wtf.

Komarov is shades of(but at a way lesser degree) McLaren, Orr, Kostka and Fraser all in the line-up over guys like Gardiner, MacArthur and Frattin...

It should. How a guy like Komarov gets even a second of PP time is ridiculous. I don’t think he can shoot the puck in an empty net and he’s out there in the slot.

The thing is, there is no way Babs can't see this, this is his way of 'rewarding' the guys who are relentless from a work ethic perspective. I don't know where the quote is now, but I know a while back when he was asked about Komorav in OT, he eluded to this fact that the guys who work the hardest have to be rewarded. Its kind of his way of keeping the team and all the skilled guys in check that work ethic is as important as skill. As much as we hate to see it as fans (and believe me I'm literally seething at times), hard to deny that this philosophy of his has obviously served him well. Would I personally do it, no, but just saying, different perspective.

Of the 4 Leafs that were in game 7 of the 2013 series with Boston.

Komarov's first year in the NHL.
Kadri's first year in the NHL
JVR's first year with the Leafs.
Gardiner's was still developing and only played 12 regular season games.

I don't think some appreciate how much it cost the Leafs to lose Bozak to injury.
At the time, Bozak was playing 21:43 minutes/game. He was throwing 2.6 hits/game.

Without Bozak, your depth was:

pre-Babcock Kadri,
Grabovski who ended up a -10,
Joe Colborne,
Jay McClement.

I can't think of a single injury on the current Leafs that could hurt the Leafs as much
now. Not Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, etc. Not even Andersen. Not saying
they're not as good as Bozak of course, but at the time, the depth was so bad, they
could ill afford to lose him. In the end, they were extremely tired and just fell apart.

Then Hyman should of been rewarded with overtime play and powerplay time this season over Komorov. Hyman's play around the boards and entering the zone is how Komorov should work every shift, yet he doesn't.

The Komorov of this season compared to last season is two different players. Komorov last season had shifts where he was fast, relentless, and an annoyance. Komorov's work ethic on the ice this season has been lacking and he shouldn't be rewarded for his past deeds or his work off the ice. Whether it be mental or physical Komorov is not the same player. and deploying such a message to your team in the regular season and deploying it in the playoffs is a much different issue.
