The announcers don't care who wins. If corporate wants someone to win, it's the Rangers, but they control zero.

Of course I know that. I'm not one to ever suggest the announcers hate my team. I'm a broadcaster myself. But in terms of overall coverage from a production standpoint it seems to slant more towards showcasing Florida.

And watch the last two game winning goals. McDonough was really amped for the Florida goal in Game 4 in comparison to how he called Wennberg's winner.

I've been really irritated with lavi giving the 3rd so much ES TOI. They're not going to score. What's the damn point?
And it probably hasn't helped in general.

People talk about playing well the first two games. For all the talk about them being shitty and not scoring, our top six had the puck those whole games. People wanna bring up shot attempts -- Panarin has been the most effective Ranger in that regard.

I'm not gonna sit here and blame everything on Lavi, but he got cute down in Florida. Cute with his scheme and cute with his usage. To have a chance, we need to ride our horses and take the puck straight down their throats on the counter like we did to Carolina.

Carolina's better at everything Florida does well. There's no reason for it to be this bad.

Did we have enough time to adjust our d zone and neutral zone scheme or will it be the same old story of stubborn Rangers coaches getting out coached?

Is the the game Mika and Panarin decide enough is enough?

If game 5 is a repeat of games 3 and 4...stick a fork in us. I really hope the team adjusts how they play. If not then we know this core is basically a new version of the San Jose Sharks and will never get over that hump.

So the announcers don't care but they're more enthusiastic about Florida. Seems like a contradiction.

Anyway, I don't understand why anyone cares about the announcers' preferences. It doesn't affect anything, so it is of no meaning to me. I'm so focused on the play, that I'm really only aware of them during breaks.

Obviously need to see a huge improvements from the last two games. If they can come close to the first period of game 4, we will take this game.

I wish I trusted the Rangers to rally back from a poor period, as FLA did the other night, but I'm not sure I do. I think we need to get a healthy lead early to win this one.

Also. These late starts are completely f***ing up my sleep schedule. Please make it worth it. LGR!

Also, Kakko was tripped on a breakaway at the end of the 3rd period. No call. Its a pattern.

Two blatant penalties that sequence. But I’m not surprised by the non-calls. If the Rangers were down in the series, I think they get one of those calls.

Idk, I’ve been watching the NHL for 5 decades. Officiating in most series these days just looks like business.

A short series loses major revenue. Concessions, merchandise, gate, and ad revenue are astronomical for each additional game.

This is a billion-dollar business dressed up as a sport.

And the league has no reason to change. They know no matter how officials call games, fans aren’t going anywhere and fans will still flood money into the NHL.

Forwards can't score if the puck doesn't leave their defensive zone. It's not their fault that they have so little time with the puck in the offensive zone.

The defense is compromised but that doesn't excuse 0 goals from the Big 3 and 0 points from Mika and Kreider. The D will be much better at home as they were in the first 2 games.

DING DING DING. Gambling is legal, and every additional game is a massive money making opportunity for the companies that the NHL and the rest of the Big 4 are in bed with. But I'm just a conspiracy theorist. I guess that just means I'll be right in 5 years when people are ready to accept that its all rigged to some extent.

I think Florida's D is better than Carolina's and while they both pressure and shoot, I think Florida is a bit more physically punishing.

How long has Forsling been this good?

Panarin and Zibanejad were very good the first two rounds.

Panarin has been good in this series. Like, full stop.

Zibanejad has been terrible in this series but should also probably have a handful of goals. He's been robbed at least three times that I can remember, twice in game 4.

I think it's fair to say that Kreider has had a very quiet playoffs outside of that one massive game.

Probably always but people started noticing last year.

The D is a lot more than compromised. They've been an abomination in the last two games.

This series is a brilliant display of how imporant a healthy Fox is in all zones.

It matters, if it didn't then there either wouldn't be announcers at all, or it would be called by AI Alexa voice. The fan/watcher EXPERIENCE is part of the complete package and it affects folk's enjoyment. But more importantly, our eyes and ears are MAKING THEM MONEY. I want a product that is neutral, otherwise give me fcking Sam Rosen.

This is not a Florida home broadcast. The way McDonagh calls the game is basically an editorial, and it alienates us.

Yeah, pretty much always.

He's back tonight for the radio call. And he'll fly down to Florida too for Game 6.

Kreider has to be hurt, he's moving at like 50% speed. I wonder if he has some sort of core strain or something with his groin or something like that.

Rigged I don't know. The NHL is a business though. And it is more financially beneficial for a team like Florida to win this series.

I know fans of other teams express a view it's better if the big market NY team wins. But there are a few reality holes in this thinking:
  • NYR is an already saturated, well-established, multi-billion-dollar franchise
  • Florida has a slightly larger population than NY, which means, as a newer franchise, it offers much more room for new growth and new revenues
A first Cup win for Florida would be a massive financial boon for that franchise and for the league.

We heard rumors that he was nursing something. And then we heard he was sick. But nobody else was sick. And when Chytil was "sick," I think he just wasn't ready conditioning-wise.

He's probably banged up.

Why do you believe parts of EVERY fanbase believe that the refs, announcers, and the league are against them?

Are the Rangers fans who believe this right and the others are all wrong?

I understand that the announcers affect your experience, but luckily for me, they don't affect mine.

I do enjoy Pang, but I know a lot of folks hate him.

Can we stop making excuses whenever a player underwhelms that he must be hurt? Nobody is 100% right now on either team. The best teams and players overcome it.

It's not bad luck. It's bad play. Let's hope it flips tonight.
