Honestly, that Lindgren “holding” penalty is still burning me. That literally happens dozens of times every game and the puck is there. What a shit call.
that's because too much time was passing and Florida wasn't scoring...

And like the game 3 where Florida had 3 straight PPs...

And the blatant tripping call against Florida in the waning minutes of the 3rd, that would have
put the Rangers on the PP to start OT.

And allowing Florida to rough up the NYR goalie, and hit after the whistle...

And not calling Rodriquez on blatant unsportsmanlike when he died on the ice and was ready to start the next PP.

And....

So if it's not bias, it's incompetent officiating at the highest level?

Some here view any criticism of the officiating to be the product of sour grapes from biased sports fans of their favorite teams....

Sure, I get it, it goes both ways.. but I've been watching the sport for nearly 30 yrs... I can see the impact of making calls at certain times in the games... and NOT making them. It affects the outcome of a sport that is predicated on MOMENTUM swings.

The better teams overcome them, however when games are tight and teams are evenly matched... you better believe that "third team" on the ice can control the outcome of games and series.

So I did the math this morning

Rangers averaged 9.3 penalty minutes per game reg season
And now 9.0 total in the post season (all 3 rounds) but 6.8 minutes in this series.

Florida is 13 minutes per game regular season
Florida is 12 minutes per game in the playoffs ( all 3 rounds)
And yet 5.2 minutes per game this round.

That’s some major statistical deviation

He stepped on a stationary stick which is never going to be called (when seen correctly) otherwise players would just start stepping on other teams sticks on purpose to get tripping calls
Look at the replay. Thats a trip in my book. Plus he pushed his head down while he glanced at the ref. Its an egregious non call. Lavi should have been screaming wtaf about that imo.

Switching these lines up makes some sense. Have to create a spark from the 4 guys on lines 1 and 2 not named Vinny or Laf. Wouldn't mind swapping CK and Bread. Maybe Vinny and Laf's success will rub off on Chris. It certainly hasn't gotten Bread going.

Lavi was never too much of screamer.

Gallant would have dropped from a heart attack and died on the bench.

It's a absolute joke and that's why people are upset. There have been numerous infractions missed all series. Florida did not become Lady Bing candidates overnight.

It's not that major. It's four games. They have 21 mins of PK time in 4 games this series. If you break the season up into 20 4 game blocks they had 21 mins of PK time or less 8 times.

They did switch the D pairs, they broke up Miller - Trouba
I think it needs to go beyond that simple move. Move Lindgren away from Fox who is not only playing on one leg but is also carrying Lindgren's corpse around as well. Stick Trouba and Lindgren on the bottom pairing and have them play exceptionally sheltered minutes. Also not against going 11-7 since Lavi won't scratch 8 or 55. Reasoning is mostly to just take some minutes off the defense since the FL forechecking has likely drained them, making an already weak defense group even worse with the increased mental mistakes.

I've seen it many times. Ekblad is standing in position with his stick in almost the exact same spot for 2-3 seconds and Kakko makes a step to his left and steps on the blade with his left foot. That's never getting called when the ref sees it correctly.

Nothing left to save it for. If I see any player playing like they are scared of getting hurt that's a major red flag. Do NOT get bullied. Now that it is a best of 3 they will hide their whistles unless it's something super obvious.

Also a big game for Lavy. Lets see how he and his crew manage the matchups.

LGR!

Id say its a trip and he also shoved his head down after checking that the ref wasnt looking which is also a non called penalty. Its a load of dirty f***ing bullshit.

It's one thing to call that one in the regular season, it's another to call it in the playoffs against a like Florida that always holds forwards against the boards. I really don't get it. I don't even think it's a regular season penalty. It was as soft a call as you could get in a physical game like this.

Maybe I didn't see it right though.

I'm going to give the ref the benefit of the doubt on this one. Yes it was a trip, but there is a chance the ref had a bad angle and couldn't see it. It happens.

Objectively, they also had to call the one on Wheeler. He hooked to prevent a point blank scoring chance, and I wouldn't have been surprised if it were even a penalty shot.

So while I would have preferred they saw the Kakko trip, I really think we lost that one on our own. Zib's giveaway was the game. And the PK unit has failed to show up.

At the end of the day, Rangers (other than Shesterkin) deserved that loss and Florida deserved that win.

You aren't going to win a Stanley Cup unless you can weather the storm against calls that go against you, and take advantage of the fortuitous ones that come your way.

That's just the way hockey goes. And that's exactly how Round 2 went for us against Carolina - we capitalized on these types of opportunities and prevented Carolina from doing the same.

I hate when fans blame refs for wins and losses. Just accept that it's never going to be perfect and good teams are able to navigate that and come out the other side with wins. Hockey is a game of momentum and unpredictability.

The problem and discrepancy is the lack of penalties that are called on Florida this series. It's half of their norm this year and in the other playoff series.
