In these trying times I rest my hopes on Igor Shesterkin, Chris Kreider, Alexei Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck.

They plus Fox are our true core, when Fox is healthy.

I don't get how people don't understand the link between effective defense and your forwards scoring goals. This isn't football where the offense and defense take separate shifts.

Mika needs to make up for the shit play he made in OT in the last game that forced Wheeler into taking a penalty that led to Florida's OT goal. Rangers need to get some mojo back and not let the Panthers dictate the entirety of the game. Shesterkin's been fine, Lafreniere and Trocheck have been great.....more of their best players need to show up.

Laf also needs to play more than 15 minutes also. Another failure of Lavy this series.

Win or lose I still think they are a contender. Every one of the final 4 are real contenders but only one lifts the cup.

I think it's unfair to call this team pretenders if they lose. Florida are prob. the best team in the league and have proved to be a nightmare matchup for us. Fox is on one leg and we literally don't have more than 3 good defensemen (and one of them, Schneider, has been AWFUL this series). Sometimes you just don't win.

it was a bad call but the team needs to take notice of penalty trends and act accordingly. it's their own fault if they don't.

What happened in the regular season no longer matters. It's a different game.

The Rangers best player is barely an average defenseman now and he's still their best defenseman, which is a horrific indictment of the rest of the group.

Florida has arguably 4-6 better defensemen than any Ranger not named Fox.

We aren't pinned in our end during PPs, are we? We need our big guys to score. That's the bottom line. We aren't Edmonton, trying to win 6-5. We count on special teams and timely goals from our stars. Fox being.less than 100% hurts. But if we got anything from Bread and Mika in the open ice, we would be winning the series. Blaming our defense for that is stupid. They are supposed to be able to create offense. They haven't. How come getting pinned in our own end hasn't stopped Barclay Goodrow of all people from scoring goals.

I like what Wheeler brought in game 4. Again, as a first liner he's tough to stomach but as a 4th liner I think he's going to bring value.

It is too appallingly tempting for Lavi to staple him back to Kreider and the ghost of Mika.

He did really well to get back but our 4th is just a mixed up line of leftover parts and I don't think he adds much to it.

That is correct but there will be plenty of simpletons calling the Rangers frauds and pretenders if they lose. I firmly believe the winner of this series wins the cup.

The key is to do it first. Make them retaliate.

They don't need tactics to clear the defensive zone. They know what to do but are failing at it, which brings more pressure, which makes it worse.

Boyle says they need a better scheme.

to defend Laviolette, putting Trouba and Miller back together kind of made sense at home, they're both horrendous these playoffs and i'd rather one bad pair than 2. but that doesn't work on the road where Maurice is free to let Barkov face f*** that pair every time theyre on the ice.

It did actually work against Carolina. In that series, Miller-Trouba and Gus-Schneider outperformed Miller-Schneider and Gus-Trouba in CF%, xGF%, SCF%, and HDCF%. In this series, though, Miller-Trouba looks bad in every metric and is getting the most 5v5 ice time, so something has to change.

To be fair, every time Ros has had the puck the last two games he’s fumbling around with it like it’s a grenade.
