It's one thing to call that one in the regular season, it's another to call it in the playoffs against a like Florida that always holds forwards against the boards. I really don't get it. I don't even think it's a regular season penalty. It was as soft a call as you could get in a physical game like this.

Maybe I didn't see it right though.



I'm going to give the ref the benefit of the doubt on this one. Yes it was a trip, but there is a chance the ref had a bad angle and couldn't see it. It happens.

Objectively, they also had to call the one on Wheeler. He hooked to prevent a point blank scoring chance, and I wouldn't have been surprised if it were even a penalty shot.

So while I would have preferred they saw the Kakko trip, I really think we lost that one on our own. Zib's giveaway was the game. And the PK unit has failed to show up.

At the end of the day, Rangers (other than Shesterkin) deserved that loss and Florida deserved that win.

You aren't going to win a Stanley Cup unless you can weather the storm against calls that go against you, and take advantage of the fortuitous ones that come your way.

That's just the way hockey goes. And that's exactly how Round 2 went for us against Carolina - we capitalized on these types of opportunities and prevented Carolina from doing the same.

I hate when fans blame refs for wins and losses. Just accept that it's never going to be perfect and good teams are able to navigate that and come out the other side with wins.

In the last 3 games 5 of their (Fla's) 8 goals came from power plays. They f*** with Igor prodding and gouging him, then when our defenseman reacts he gets a penalty. The refs up til now have been almost a criminal mafia conspiracy against us (In this series only). Im not pretending its not happening.

Wake the f*** up and get pissed about it.

The Rangers have legit criticisms against them but bs constant calls against us at some point becomes fixing the series.

The problem and discrepancy is the lack of penalties that are called on Florida this series. It's half of their norm this year and in the other playoff series.

Fla PK time per 4 game sets in the playoffs (3 games for the last bunch since 15 total):

Games 1-4 - 5.96 mins/game
Games 5-8 - 4.65 mins/game
Games 9-12 - 4.59 mins/game
Games 13-15 - 5.66 mins/game

I have to say I'm not seeing the issue. I agree they've missed calls but the results are not exactly swinging wildly throughout. Seems like pretty standard small sample stuff to me

Whether the calls are legitimate or not, you're not going to win failing to kill 1/3rd of all PKs.

Also, if you think the refs are conspiring then why even watch? Criticizing bad calls is fine. But saying there is an agenda against the most popular team in the country is just nonsense.

Either way, just give me one more amazing Fox play before the season is over. That spin and backhander to Laf was a thing of beauty, really sucks he's hurt and we didn't get more of that this postseason.

I wouldn't hesitate to just play three lines over any of Cuylle, Wennberg, Kakko, Wheeler, or even Chytil to be honest.

I think tonight is the series. If we can't beat them with home ice advantage with last change, there's very little hope of us avoiding elimination in Florida when they can get the matchups they want.

This is one series where the Rangers are a different team at home vs away. We were much better in games 1/2 than games 3/4. And part of the reason is last change.

This is how I see it.

Our Rangers have two chances to get it back to the Garden for Game 7.

Anything can happen with that crowd behind you and Igor in net.

But they are gonna have to be a shit ton better.
