I don't care what anyone chants during the game. Personally, I love the "We Want The Cup" chant. You're in it to win it. I think the timing of it may come into question but still. I think if they are up late in game 3 maybe you start it. But I think the Garden faithful would wait until game 4.

Either way the bottom line is to go out and win tonight.

The Garden "faithful" was chanting this in Game 6 last round. So no, they won't wait. It's already begun.

Lol we're fans and fans are going to do and say dumb things from time to time. That said Rangers fans are quite creative. My first Ranger game was during Hextall's rookie year. I was in shock at "buy a Porsche Hextall" chants, such that "We want the Cup" is no big deal.

I remember that.

I also remember the Alan Arbour beats his wife chants as well.

The golden oldies

I thought that was "Beat your wife Potvin", but I could be wrong.

I still love the fact that in almost every arena I have seen a game, they play the Potvin sucks piano chord and you inevitably hear the chant. It could be an Atlanta/LA game. (true story, I think that was the game, I am getting old)

What's the word on Brass for tonight's game?

Also, I see the Habs fans are super confident tonight, apparently they are out playing the Rangers and have better d.

I've been to Devils vs. Ranger games heard some of the best chants ever "daddy uncle" "turnpike sucks" "garden state sucks" and the classic "mmmmaaarrtttyyy"

It's a very interesting phenomenon how confident they seem to be with their team. They did dominate the play i game 2, but the Rangers won it after dominating game 1.

No need for that.

Game 2 was interesting, they certainly did dominate in a lot of ways in the first period but by the time the third period rolled around the Rangers were really letting them come in and take easy one and done shots on Lundqvist. They got a lot of shots but most weren't particularly dangerous.

Also the Canadiens possession was largely driven by one line, so, sure they had a great game but the overall team didn't necessarily have a great game, plus they lost the special teams battle again. If AV can matchup against the Pacioretty line and limit them more this game then things are going to look ugly for the Canadiens if their other lines can't step up.

For the Rangers, I think they need a better start and to put early pressure on Tokarski and get him sweating again

Seems to be an assumption that how the Habs played in the 1st period of Game 2 is how they will keep starting games. Totally different situation. Down 1-0 at home, winning ties the series the series going back to NYC. Seems much more likely that the Rangers will bring that type of energy tonight. A win tonight all but punches a ticket to the Finals.

Losing that Game 2 surely had to take a lot of the wind out of their sails. Dominate 1st, 19 shots in the 3rd, come out with 1 goal.

that would probably be a good thing for montreal and bad for us. the more they try to goon it up, the worse it is for them.

Probably a game too late by Therrien though...if he wasn't planning on getting a pound of flesh from Kreider in Game 2, he should have made this move then. He will already be behind the 8 ball in Games 3 and 4 with AV having the last change, you know AV will try to exploit the Kreider speed advantage against Montreal's 2n D pair

This is hilarious. Even if they outplayed us in game 2 (I think they did), game 1 they got dominated. 7-2 was about right. They think they dominated the whole game, when it was like 15 minutes. They padded their shot stats with mostly harmless shots in the third, especially in the last 5 minutes. Habs fans are super arrogant, is what they are. No one in their right mind can say they outplayed us in this series. One great surge by them and they have a better D. What a bunch of homers.

They were also chanting it pregame at the home opener the year we signed Gomez and Drury. I'll never forget that day.

They chanted that entire game.

Its funny, of all the Rangers games I've been to over the last few decades... that was the game I thought of when I saw this thread.
