Binner and Oilers duo against Top Teams:

.875 vs Winnipeg (Stu was .615)

.946 vs Dallas with 35 saves, then an .895 (Stu was .870 vs them)

.704 vs Washington (Stu had an .786) ...Stu a little better here.

.966 vs Colorado with 28 saves (Stu's last game vs COL: .750, Game previous: .880, First Game: .964)

vs Toronto; first game: .976 with 40 saves, second game: .946 with 35 saves
(Stu vs Toronto .857)

vs NJD .1000 with 32 saves (Pickard was an .813)

Stu does perform better against Vegas.

Not the massive outperformance over Stu that we see with Gibson or Vejmelka, but Binner does seem to perform better than Stu against top teams, and it should be stated, on a team with a far more porous D than Edmonton...as you can even see with these large number of saves.

Shit. The slow part about Sundqvist might be a dealbreaker, but the Oilers have been looking for a big right-shot centre and tried Noah Philp...he didn't quite fill the need.

Also, @TF_Hockey I just read somewhere that Henrique is +6 goals for, so it would be nice to keep him...but Philp's ceiling is bottom six so I think he could be moved to make room for Sundqvist?

Binnington is my first choice now after saving Canada in the Four Nations. The dude is beyond clutch, and him coming to Edmonton would give me Mike Vernon in Detroit vibes. He also has a better GSAx than Skinner or Pickard while playing behind a worse defense. I would love to see him swapped for Skinner, and maybe the Oil could even add James Reimer for peanuts to be an actual backup.

Philp isn't quite ready yet, but he is big and fast. Certainly faster than most in the bottom six. I think he should be kept. I think the Oilers brass agree with that.

Henrique.. geez. He hasn't been bad and he hasn't been great. Tough to move a guy who signed here in free agency and for less than he could've had elsewhere. And at $3 Million AAV for two years. I fear we're stuck with him. Could be worse I guess :)

The Oilers need an upgrade in the bottom six. I think we all know that.
