Honestly, maybe it's a sort of Western European soccer fan mentality they have, but Habs fans are so so different from anyone else. They're making me a Bruins fan.

I like most of their fans. They are also, likely the most passionate in the entire NHL. We have a couple posters that are consistently embarrassing, as does every fan base.

I did but it probably took 10 years off my life :(

I'm convinced my hairline is receding at such a young age due to this team.

Only three chants I want to hear tonight.. "Let's go rangers" "Henrik" and "Marty"

You'll be disappointed.

Most of you would have never survived 1994. That's for sure.

I could only imagine the "Messier Will Never Win in NY" thread that would be on the board.

I barely remember about 2 minutes of the '94 cup run, and it was really my first taste of NY sports as I was 4 at the time. All I remember was on the feed I was watching showed a bunch of fans going crazy at a bar across the street from MSG.

I've been to Devils vs. Ranger games heard some of the best chants ever "daddy uncle" "turnpike sucks" "garden state sucks" and the classic "mmmmaaarrtttyyy"

The sickest chant ever was Buy a Porsche Potvin, buy a Porsche. Only chant that made me cringe.

Since we are discussing chants in this thread, when the Rangers came back from Vancouver with a 3-1 series lead, the crowd was chanting We Want the Cup before the anthem in Game 5.

I was there that night and obviously it didn't help. Of course a certain offsides call didn't help either.

This is hilarious. Even if they outplayed us in game 2 (I think they did), game 1 they got dominated. 7-2 was about right. They think they dominated the whole game, when it was like 15 minutes. They padded their shot stats with mostly harmless shots in the third, especially in the last 5 minutes. Habs fans are super arrogant, is what they are. No one in their right mind can say they outplayed us in this series. One great surge by them and they have a better D. What a bunch of homers.

Still trying to sell the ******** that Hank had a leisurely third period, I see.

Hey i was 4 too! I went to the parade and remember Beuks raising the cup and sitting on my Dad's shoulders. That's all.

I must have watched the 1994 Cup tape 3000 times though. I still watch it a few times a year. All those moments are engrained in my brain. The Tikkanen offside, Graves yelling 1940, Kovalev drinking out of the cup with the little leprauchan toy.

Get over yourself. This isn't about Hank. You don't have to say the team sucked to say that Hank had a great game. He didn't have a leisurely 3rd period, but he didn't have to be amazing, just consistent. Nothing wrong with that, and I wouldn't want him to face 19 shots consistently, but he was sharp he's coming out of that period with a shutout (of the period). Your amazing ability to analyze my motives incorrectly are hilarious. This has nothing to do with Lundqvist. You don't have to say that the team was dominated the whole game to appreciate his game. It's not an either or.

This game scares me. It just scares the hell out of me. Win or lose.

I'm afraid to lose because then it's 2-1. Montreal is very much in the series.

I'm afraid to win because while 3-0 is very nice, it also opens the door to possibly blowing a 3-0 lead. I went through it with the Yankees and trust me, you never wanna go through it. It changed me as a sports fan for the rest of my life.

Either way, this is gonna suck until Sunday. Still prefer to win though.

ARGH... This is where being a transplanted fan hurts. I was born in LA, so it was one of those situations where no one outside of my house really cared.

I live in DC now, so if they do make it, and there's a potential clincher at MSG I might have to just bite the bullet with the ridiculous cost of tickets and make it up there.

I was lucky enough to go to Game 6 of the '09 World Series with my dad, and it's something I won't forget for the rest of my life.

We could sing:

Oh Carcillo, I'd let you shag my wife, Oh Carcillo, you are the love of my life , Oh Carcillo... I want a stash like yours too!

To the tune of "I love you baby"

I have 1 memory of the cup run and it was the parade, too. I was 3. It was really the defining moment in becoming a Rangers fan - even though I lived about 20 minutes from the Coliseum growing up.

John Moore with the most sheltered zone starts of any defensemen in the playoffs lol. AV is superb. Meanwhile, Lord Byron only starts in the offensive zone ~1/10 shifts lol.

lol with all due respect, being scared of going up 3-0 is ridiculous.

Lol, only you could spin a 3-0 series lead as being bad.

BTW, I had a surgery yesterday to repair a completely torn ACL so last night wasn't fun at all. Really hoping the Rangers will be up 3 games after tonight to ease the pain!

Great to have you here. Yes, let's hope NYR will win this game for you and help spped your recovery. Hang in there!!!!:handclap:
