Looks like Shawn didn't actually watch the replay.

Yup, it certainly is reckless to get tripped from behind and have your skate lose it's edge while going ~ 23mph and trying to stop.

No you dont understand. Its reckless to go that fast and blow by defenders. You have to skate slower so they can legally stop you.

</sarcasm>

This makes me more nervous.

Now it feels like we "should" or even "have to" win. Don't like that.

Nonsense.

We need 3 wins in 6 games, we can do this in our own building.

And their goalie will be weak, worst we'll play since Emery. They're even talking about playing an AHL goalie because Budaj sucks.

Pretty obvious there. Emelin whacked at his right skate and you can see it flail a little and him lose his balance. Now, was it reckless of him to go skates first into Price? Yes. But, as you can see from this gif, Kreider was reckless because he chose to TRY AND SCORE A GOAL in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals instead of protecting Price. By trying to still score the goal he ends up hitting the ice feet first. It is not intentional and it is not dirty. But Montreal fans will have well-earned their reputation as cry baby whiners by the end of this series.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen any Habs fans claim this, but I'm sure there are a few who have. It's a ridiculous assertion and not worthy of debate, the only argument to be had is whether or not he was reckless, and to what degree the stickwork by the Canadien defense contributed to his fall (both points I'm happy to agree to disagree on).

Please, just stop with the reckless assertion. If he's not tripped, he either stops and gives Price a snow shower or he goes to his backhand and skates by him.

That's the definition of a tripping penalty FYI.

It was indeed reckless......on the part of Emelin. He put his goalie in harm's way, and he should also have been penalized on that play. Reckless, absolutely. And now he and his team are paying the Price. See what I did there? Ok, that was bad.

Really don't have a problem with Therrien. Someone said it early but its obvious hes just trying to use this as a rallying point and I don't blame him. He knows it was an accident, whatever.

I would be a little more worried about any shenanigans from the Habs tonight if we didn't have Vigneault behind the bench. His demeanor is perfect for this team and hes been able to keep them focused on just playing the game and staying disciplined. You know its going to be a major point of emphasis today and this team has given me no reason to believe they won't be smart out there.

I expect plenty of scrums and whatnot but unless the refs are calling anything and everything I don't think well be heading to the box much.

With the speed he was coming in with a swinging slash has the same effect a trip would. Since when is skating full speed reckless ??? I find this statement very comical that the media and Canadiens are saying

As someone pointed out in another thread..it's about 22 feet from the top hashmark to the goal line. It's 14 feet from the top hashmark to the top of the crease. At best, Kreider has around 9.5 feet to adjust his body to stop from being in an off balance position and avoid contact with Price. At the speed he's moving (about ~23 mph), that's around 0.3 seconds. That isn't a lot of time to exhibit body control.

I think the fact that Price had a pre-existing knee injury since the Olympics has some bearing on why he's hurt now. It's just a bad situation.

The other pre-game thread was locked, so I assume here is good.

Rangers should rest Hank w/Cam.
Want him to stay fresh. This is the slot.

As to Brassard believed out game 2, this is where JT Miller should be inserted.
But play him at C with Kreider.
Move Stepan to Brassard's slot
Would also support more minutes for D. Moore on higher shift

What do you think this is, a throwaway game at the end of the regular season?

Talbot's not starting.

You don't take Lundqvist out when he's in the middle of, potentially, the best streak of his career, and has just exorcized the Bell Centre's demons. You just...don't.

i don't think his coach would agree with you. this is the type of comment that will motivate the other team.

The coach doesn't want his players being confident and focused?

Prust wants to run his mouth, you think that isn't something that could motivate the Rangers? It's a two way street, I'm not sure I see your point here.

I agree the Rangers should rest Hank, in the offseason.

No, too many moving parts. Hank doesn't need rest, he's fine. Leave all the lines intact except move Dom Moore to replace Brass(if he can't play tonight)and insert Carcillo to play on 4th line with Boyle moving to center.

I think Montreal will bite theire lips tonight and avoid anything serious since all eyes are on them now..

I think in game 4 we'll see gooning...
