5th straight Cup somehow! I was 12-0 before the Cup final. Ended up 16-2 which was my most dominating run yet for this team. That is with Fischer missing the PO (and over half the season) and Chychrun, Sandqvist and Fascia playing 10, 12 and 14 games respectively due to injury. Also went on a 19 game winning spree during the season.

Pharand went before season start to get under the cap. Hayton went during the season because other C could do his job for 500k less. He found a great home in Carolina where there was pretty much no one behind Eichel, so he beat his career high by 11 points. as always, some other depth shuffling occurred.

Lafreniere - Wright - Nylander
Glover - Lucius - Sandqvist
Benito - Petrov - Fischer
Demers (63rd in 26)- Pavlovs - Sloboda (28th in 26)
Fascia (126th in 26), Frost

Chychrun - Stenman
Bischel - Soderstrom
Rada - Kuronen (32nd in 25)
Foget (94th in 26)

Sorokin
Jasek

Anyone have a problem with waivers in the beta? I made a trade with Dallas, offloading a good amount of cap to them (but within their budget). They then start, at random, waiving really good players. Hintz, a few guys i traded to them, Benn, Heiskanen, Seguin, etc. They kept waiving guys until they barely had a team, and they were replaced with minor leaguer/generated guys.

Really destroyed my entire save. Other teams were making very stupid waiver decisions as well. Like Tampa waiving Cernak and Vegas waiving Tuch.

I usually wait until season end to make a post, but I'm too amazed to keep it in any longer.

I don't coach games, but my team is somehow on a 30-0-0 start of the season.

28 ROW
136 GF
67 GA
25.5% PP
86.3% PK

That's with Nylander (my 1st RW) and Lucius (my 2nd C) missing 8 and 7 games respectively. I am about to sim a few weeks, so I wanted to immortalize those numbers in case I lose a game by then.

Including the 2 players mentioned earlier, I have 6 players over 1 PPG, the highest one being Wright at 1.5 PPG.

Ended up going 63-16-3, 58 ROW, 325 GF, 214 GA

Won the Cup again. Interestingly, the top scorer in the PO (29 pts in 23 games) was Alex Pharand, the winger that was stuck on my 4th line and traded for cap reasons.

Since the trade, he had 2 straight 40+ goal seasons.

Cayden Glover is still proving to be better has he had 58 goals and 106 points for the first 100+ points season on my team.

Lucius played only 23 games (no PO) this season due to a damaged knee cap, but apparently no long term issues.

Lafreniere - Wright - Nylander
Glover - Lucius - Sandqvist
Demers - Petrov - Sloboda
Benito - Buinitsky (70th in 26) - Sykora (26th in 27)
Frost

Chychrun - Stenman
Bischel - Soderstrom
Blomberg - Freschi (13th in 27)
Rada - Sisler (29th in 27)

Yeah. The AI is not good at managing cap space, and the AI GMs also offer ridiculous contracts to some players that result in that waiver "feature" being even worse a couple seasons down the road.

Yeah, there are some players signed to 14/15 million deals. Would be ok in a rising cap situation, but the cap is static.

I think the only way to avoid this is raising the cap with the Assistant. Other than that, the AI will just keep on making idiotic deals.

My SC Bern save in year 2034. I managed Canada to World Cup title (I don't know why it is played in July). Look at SOG :D 92 shots. Never saw this high number.

Won the Cup again in 34 after a 1 year hiatus getting outed in the first round. That was the trigger to me moving on from Sorokin as he had a below expectation run. He ended up in Dallas and having a better rating season but missed the PO and is set to retire after the season. Leyton Stenman decided to leave Arizona for Seattle where he had a good season but nowhere neat the almost PPG year he had in 31-32 (78 in 82). Had to get a backup goalie mid-year as the homegrown one Tristan Pouliot (#20 in 28) was not great and ended up being shipped out. Soderstrom will likely be shipped out when his contract end in 2 years as he is looking for a "new challenge".

Lafreniere - Wright - Sandqvist
Glover - Lucius - Sloboda
Pitlick (7th in 29) - Petrov - Bourne (35th in 29)
Benito - Buinitsky - Demers
Ryckman (28th in 28)

Chychrun - Soderstrom
Bischel - Buhler (15th in 28)
Blomberg - Army (19th in 29)
Rada - Bailey(11th in 30)

Hey guys I'm thinking of starting a first game with the new patch. How is it? Stable enough and fixed some problems we were all hoping for or good old.same ?

I didn't get any non-db related problems. It's definitely better than 1.4 but there is still work to be done.

I would definitely try it if I were you.

Holy shit, I just now realized you can save and load practice schedules.

After this many hours. :help:

Literally my least favorite part of the game is (was!!!!) setting those up. Haha

Don't worry, I recently discovered that I can select all players at practice screen and change them to resting/fitness instead of doing it one by one.:laugh:

Why is it so hard to lose in this game? Started a new save with Arizona because I wanted to rebuild through the drafts. I basically had to sell everyone worthwhile on my team to miss the 2022 playoffs. Keller and Kessel ended up staying in my roster and both scored over ppg. In the end I did manage to miss the playoffs and I was able to get the 2nd pick in the lottery with one of the 1st round picks that I had.

Now for the second season my biggest offseason signings were Kevin Lankinen, Vincent Trocheck and Joakim Kemell (2nd pick). Still easily one of the worst rosters in the league, but I ended up as the 3rd seed in the West. I had acquired lots of picks for the 2023 draft so this time I just decided not sell players and fast forward my rebuild as it seems I'll be contending for the SC soon.

I don't have any tactics set up, my coaches are average no practice schedules...I just keep winning games for some reason.

Hmm...I started save with my Avs (deleted it after 2nd season because I didn't set Salary Cap with EHM asistant), and in the 2nd season (in the 1st I won the Cup), Rantanen went down with 3 months long injury, and Kuemper went down for like two weeks. My record without these two went something like 1-15-2.

Well I sold Kessel and I was in the bottom 5.

What detail level are you using? Are you watching the games?

i could never figure out the practice schedules and have players like try to focus on defensive positioning and shooting and whatnot. i would just set everyone to rest to begin the off-season
