Looking through this thread, I believe there were a few NHL team re-rates of players, prospects and RFA's left to do after the Pivot 6.5 update, is that correct?

I'm thinking it's about time to start a new game, but I figured I'd wait until all the NHL re-rates are done.

I believe he said the holidays are affecting things so might be a few more weeks.

That's understandable, I can wait. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't somehow missed an update here saying that the NHL was done. Thanks for letting me know.;)

I got the Rangers, Calgary and Carolina done, still have a few left but def should be done before Christmas at the absolute latest. I just have to hype myself up to plow through them. I pull a lot of info from a bunch of places when I do them so it’s time consuming.

Awesome. I'm having a lot of fun playing with your pivot rosters, but I figured I'd wait for the completed NHL updates before starting another longer term save. From the little editing I've done, I know how time consuming it can be. Thanks again for taking the time to do this to keep EHM up to date and fresh for everyone.

Just started a new game after a year or two not playing. Is it just me or the cap management from the AI has gotten worse than before?

I'm in 2023 and Chicago waived Kirby Dach who has 1st line talent level attributes and is being paid 3,5 M$.

Okay, so I finally managed to lose some games by not watching the games. (There was a huge difference)
In 2023-24 season I had the 3rd worst record in the league and won the 1st overall pick in the lottery.

Now I have enough prospects to start coaching/building a serious Stanley Cup contender in the next few years.
My lineup:
Keller - Trocheck (FA 2022) - Kemell (#2 pick in 2022)
Deslauriers (#1 pick in 2024) - Schmaltz - Guenther
Kirk - Hayton - Fischer
Maccelli - Laughton (trade 2022) -Nichushkin (FA 2022)

Chychrun - Boqvist (waivers 2023)
Byram (trade 2024) - Söderström
Moser - Timmins

Driedger (FA 2024)
Lankinen (FA 2022)

Other notable prospects:
Seamus Casey
Brad Lambert
Matthew Savoie

I haven't gone too big in the FA and traded mostly for draft picks only. I did trade for Byram as Avs had cap trouble but I traded my 2023 #10 pick 1 on 1 for him.

Kemell has developed nicely:
Kemell

Casey will be a great top pairing D:
Casey

And I won the lottery to draft this guy:
Deslauriers

At the moment Tampa is still the team to beat with 5 consecutive Stanley Cups. I think the next powerhouse will be the Rangers as they now have the reigning Vezina winner in Shesterkin, reiging Norris winner in Fox and the next superstar in Shane Wright (Yes they got the #1 pick again)

Edit:
Season record 62-15-5 (1st in the NHL)
Playoff record 16-1-0 (swept Tampa in the SC final)

In my game, Kemell has had two 72 goals season with SJ and is probably going to end with over 1000 goals in his career.

Yeah sounds like a game development issue maybe? I'm not sure the game is equipped to deal with somebody like say Landeskog - who should have a high face-off rating and often takes the draws on the MacKinnon line but never, ever actually plays center and thus should have a negligible ability to play center in the game. When you are controlling a team directly you can of course set the face-off man on any line in tactics but when the CPU is just simming, I'm not sure that it recognizes to simulate game data with ideal face-off results.

Here's Kiviharju in 2034 - he was the #2 pick in 2024 behind Eiserman. One of the stars of Quebec and of the Finnish NT. Not outrageous offensive numbers but really steady high-end defenseman - 4-time all-star, has third place finishes in both the Norris and Orr Trophies (I created the Orr and Langway trophies for best offensive and defensive defenders).

vbYbQ9m.png

His star teammate on Quebec is Shane Wright - he isn't quite the offensive genius that Bedard and Michkov turned into but he's a two-way force who regular puts up 90-100 points and he's also won the Selke. So elite two-way franchise center:

Jc7CIG2.png

Dvorsky has been great too although he took the KHL path for a while and made the Pens wait (not as long as Michkov though!)

FfyFVdi.png

Another great Finn in this sim is Topias Hynninen - he was #10 overall in 2024 and has been a lethal duo with Ryanb Roobroeck in Detroit. Top 10 in goals and points so far this year. If you look at his development curve, sometimes it pays to be patient...came over at age 21 too North America, spent the entire year in the AHL and then his 22/23 season had a solid but not spectacular rookie season in the NHL. But then at age 24 he blasted off:

zQ4hR5b.png

Also...Cale Makar has 8 Norris Trophies. So that's kind of a thing...lol

What’s Dvorsky and Wrights ability scores (shooting, passing, creativity etc)? Thanks

v6.6 Released for Pivot

Progress has been slower for me just due to work and US holiday prep. Have 5 more NHL organizations to update (LAK, MIN, PHI, PIT and WSH). Once that is completed I'll port everything over to TBL and take a break with releases for a month or so. I assume the DBs this year have been pretty good as I've had much fewer issues reported as of late despite the player base continuing to grow a bit.

General Updates:
- Latest notable transactions
- Prospect Generator updated to v6 -- thanks ImActuallyanOtter!!
NHL Updates:
- NHL organizational re-rating (players, prospects and RFAs) completed for: Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers
- Updated arena details, attendance averages based on early season data, and updated market size and fan support and training quality for some clubs
- Added future arena move for the Calgary Flames from the Scotiabank Saddledome to the Calgary Event Centre on July 1st 2024
Austrian Updates:
- Updated league structure of bet-at-home ICE Hockey League - removed Bratislava Capitals as they withdrawed from competition and updated league structure
Canadian Updates:
- Added future arena move for the Calgary Hitmen from the Scotiabank Saddledome to the Calgary Event Centre on July 1st 2024
Swiss Updates:
- Updated almost all Swiss players playing in Switzerland, huge thanks to Marcomunetti!!

My most recent save just corrupted and I didn't have a backup, so this is good timing. I had a player with 37 goals in 22 games (AHL - Zakary Lavoie). That's BY FAR the best season I've ever seen at that point. :(

I think it's @BKarchitect who uses a modern-looking/cleaner in-game interface. Where can I snag that?

Not ready but thought I'd share an update...I've been working quite hard behind the scenes to flesh out an entirely revamped international system for the NHLX database - trying to create more interest, a more robust schedule and generally a more "football" like approach to international hockey. To that end, the following new features have been (or are being added):

- A full 72 national teams, each with at minimum a generic domestic and junior league based in each nation to use as a place for player development and holding of the more unique nationalities.

- A full rotating slate of international "friendlies" that occur over the winter break, with a revolving "random" slate of games for each nation against other nations across the globe.

- A new "Rivals" series of international competitions that each feature an 8-game series between two world power rivals. There are 9 series in total - each occurs every 4 years on different "off" Olympic years in June (so that NHL player can play). This concept is based off the original Canada-USSR Summit Series and the Summit Series is one of the feature series - which also include USA-Canada, Sweden-Finland, Czech-Slovak and others.

- A new "Regional Championships" series that occurs in February, every non-Olympic year that features all nations broken down into geographical regions to compete for regional glory and titles (except the top 9 national powers like Canada, USA, Russia, etc are placed in their own group for friendly matches - I didn't want them to overwhelm the Regional championships).

The bottom line is a LOT more international play and matches, a LOT more opportunities for players to earn national caps and earn awards and titles internationally and a chance to guide some non-traditional minnow nations to glory! And the whole database includes an entirely integrated logo package for every single team, nation and comp :)

An example of winter break friendlies for North Macedonia. Every league in the database has had it's schedule adjusted to allow for a "winter break" in late December and early January each year for worldwide international friendlies:

aV12J3f.png

The upcoming Rivals series between Sweden and Finland - each series (9 in total) feature fierce international rivals in an 8-game series once every 4 years.

uL5qOP4.png

All Rivals Series and Regional Championships feature MVP, Top Scorer and All-Star Team Awards so players can stack up internation accolades and trophies to their resumes:

0SjJDwN.png

You can guide smaller nations to Regional supremacy in the Regional Championships on off-Olympic years. There are 7 Regional Titles up for grabs. Includes some custom graphics work for logos!:

9rdIq83.png

It's pretty interesting to watch the intensity build as national pride is at stake against your neighbours!

mjof97V.png

And to watch players from smaller nations who might be "afterthoughts" become national heroes!

dLGDltw.png

International player resumes get much more robust with more comps to be chosen for!

cW3fy7P.png

So many more international options! I have taken out some of the pre-existing and dated international comps...I may eventually add even more:

Woah man, would love to give this a shot too! I'm working on some final additions to a GUH update as well!

If you need a name list for some of those countries, let me know, I compiled a player generator / name list for all of those non-traditional nations!

I added first and second names for every nation by hand in the database based on some name lists I found online. It was so tedious lol. I didn’t see an import function for that on the editor. If there is and I missed it I probably wasted hours of my life.

@Beef Cake requested this not sure if Archi implemented it. Make sure you look at the v2 Editor Alpha so you know what's coming, you can't make changes in it yet but it has some new filtering capabilities so its great for selective outputs (like players who have specific rights).
