Unfortunately unlike the Lightning I was unable to win the Cup... and Hughes is for sure leaving in the offseason... but OH WELL I WON 3 in 4 YEARS and made 4 out 5 finals! so I think it was all well worth it lol.

I think you'll be fine with Kemell, Wright, Sandqvist, Keller, Stutzle and whoever replace Hughes

It will more than likely be Matthew Savoie, who I managed to get in the 2nd round in the "Wright-Kemell" draft, and who has struggled as a depth forward for 4 years before Hughes went down with an injury and he stepped up putting up 30 goals and 56 points!

Also PS: I don't coach games.

Guys, I was wondering whether if it was possible to see the standings of different leagues from the past years?

I just finished my 2nd year in the KHL and I wanted to compare the standings of the league from last year and I can't see them. I can only see the past winner(s) = Finalists of the Gagarin's Cup of last year and the winner of the RS

unless their is some other way I'm unaware of you "can" but it is super long and tedious. You need to go onto each teams page, navigate to -> History -> Competitions and in the "View" dropdown menu their is a choice for conferences and whatnot.

so you would need to look at each team individually... unless like I said, I may be missing something.

He went in the 5th round in my game.

Doesn't look to bad attribute wise and in the AHL, but his first stint in 2025-2026 for Anaheim was pretty ordinary (13 games, 3 pts, 6.33 AVR).

My 2nd round steal that year was RD Leyton Stenman who was sporting a 7.36 AVR with 25 pts in 66 games.

Went to SCF in 2025 and WCF in 2026, but I have had to sell some depth. I made the mistake of claiming Danault on waivers as a 3C and while he was good, his cap hit forced me to lose some D and wing depth. Decided to get finally get rid of him, hopefully I can find some cheaper 3C in FA. I also have to deal with Sorokin not wishing to negotiate a contract.

so I'm tearing through seasons lmao... currently in 31/32...

Savoie for me had played 1 NHL game by the end of 25/26... having put up 2 seasons in the AHL at 50 points even each year.

His NHL stat-line then went as follows:

2026/2027 68GP 10G 9A 19P
2027/2028 76GP 12G 11A 23P
2028/2029 61GP 13G 12A 25P
2029/2030 82GP 30G 26A 56P
2030/2031 82GP 17G 36A 53P

so far in 2031/2032 he is 24GP 6G 9A 15P but hes playing with worse wingers this year as Kemell betrayed me... guy wouldn't sign with me for 15.5M per season... then signed in CAR for 12.3 to play with Aho.

so my top 6 after going to the WCF again looks like this:

Stutzle (101P) - Wright (91P) - Sandqvist (65P)
Keller (84P) - Savoie (53P) - Guenther (56P)

really mad about losing Kemell... guy is a stud... with Shane Wright he has won 3 Conn Smythes, 2 Ted Lindsays, 2 Harts, 2 Art Ross, 2 Rockets and a Lady Byng... while putting up 714 points in 648 games for us.

Yeah ... that's what I thought.
I did it this way to find my team's results to compare from last year.

Ok thanks for your answer.

@Treb so in 2032 I was conceding to the fact that I was about to lose my 2 time (probably 3 time) Vezina winning goaltender... 1 year removed from losing Kemell (3 time Smythe winner among myriad other awards)... I figured I'd go on 1 final run with the crew...

quick rundown of what happened this year. Stutzle, Knight, Savoie and Osterberg (20G 48P winger) will need new contracts at the end of the year, among other depth players. Shayne Gostisbehere has informed us this season will be his last.

We are right up against the cap, Spencer Knight makes 3.9 as does Ghostbear. so 7.8M coming off the books... initial discussions with Stutzle he wants 13.5... currently making 5ish so 8.5 increase... I definitely don't have the cap space to keep both Stutzle and Knight.

in 6 Seasons with the 'Yotes, Knight has played 366 regular season games.

Record: 270-59-27 2.39GAA .922SV% 16SO

we won 2 stanley cups with him, he won the Vezina-Jennings sweep 3 times, as well as being a first team all-star in each of the 6 years.

in 9 seasons with the "Yotes, Stutzle has played 657 regular season games.

Games Played: 657
Goals: 239
Assists: 415
Points: 654
+358
167 PIM

we won 3 stanley cups with Timmy, and he picked up a Lady Byng, and was a 1st team all-star twice.

I decided to attempt to keep Tim, and let Knight play out the season as I'm fairly confident in my goalie pipeline.

here is our line-up on opening day and the points for each of what I predict will be the cores final run for a cup.

Tim Stutzle (78P) - Shane Wright (78P) - Sonny Sandqvist (74P)

Clayton Keller (84P) - Matthew Savoie (46P) - Dylan Guenther (59P)

Mark Hargrove (41P) - Rory Spink (42P) - Johan Osterberg (48P)

Travis Kane (32P) - Eric Stuart (24P) - Gustaf Pettersson (9P)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jakob Chychrun (50P) - Victor Soderstrom (51P)

Tommy Budnick (36P) - Ty Nelson (31P)

Shayne Gostisbehere (14P) - Tony Massie (21P)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spencer Knight (49-8-4) 2.31 .925 2SO

Sergei Litvinov (8-8-5) 2.73 .911 1SO

The craziest thing happened, we made it to the cup finals! WOO... and got swept by the JACK HUGHES MONTREAL CANADIENS...

Finally won the Cup the third year as a contender in 2027 (SCF, WCF, SC winner). Had trouble scoring in the regular season (only 247 GF, 217 GA), but got carried by Sorokin. Getting Chaz Lucius for cheap made it possible. He went from a 24-35 points guy in Winnipeg to scoring 33 goals and 49 points playing 13:55 a game and only 0:41 PPT. 4th line had a huge turnover of prospect being tested and traded away. Guenther kinda busted for me. Tested and traded a few D prospect as well.

Team was:
Keller (56 pts) - Wright (76) - Nylander (66)
Saad (45) - Schmaltz (38) - Tuch (43)
Hayton (30) - Lucius (49) - Fischer (30)
Glover (7 in 46, 65th in 2022) - Frost (5 in 44) - Guenther (21)
Swick (5 in 28, 51st in 2022), K. Smith (1 in 7, 6th in 2022)

Chychrun (44) - Soderstrom (42)
Gostibehere (29) - Stenman (30, 34th in 2022)
Bischel (15 in 61, 12th in 2022) - Punnett (11 in 45, 32nd in 2022)
Moser (10 in 33)

Sorokin
Lankinen

Wright, Punnett and Guenther are said to be RFA but will be re-signed.
Hayton wants to test FA so I'll probably replace him.
Schmaltz is getting traded for cap space and because Lucius is clearly better.

1 year after me! I was able to accelerate my rebuild when Jack Hughes requested a trade from the Devils and they accepted Fischer for Hughes straight up in 2024!

Hughes had 11 points in 37 games for the Devils that year, while Fischer had 13 in 40... idk what the A.I. was thinking but oh well... Hughes would get 32 points in 40 games with us that year.

then I acquired Stützle in a big trade with Ottawa like 3 days later, I gave them:

Nick Schmaltz, Janis Moser, Michael Callahan (5th round 2018), Matias Macelli (4th round in 2019)
the negotiating rights to Jackson Stewart (2nd round 2022), Antonin Verreault (4th round 2022), Andrei Shutov (4th round 2023), and Cal Thomas (6th round 2021)
Arizona's 2024 1st, Arizona's 2024 2nd and Arizona's 2025 2nd

for Tim Stützle and A Justin Danforth that for whatever reason played for them on a 725k contract one year and put up 40 points, and they gave him a 2 year 5.1M contract... he had 1 point in 40 games when I got him, and I proceeded to just let him play in the AHL and eat the cap cause in 2024 and 2025 I wasn't planning on contending, just competing.

that trade was a little janky but Schmaltz performed well for them, Moser served as their captain for the time he was there for some reason... and Macelli is still there putting up 20 goals and 50+ point seasons.

and for us I mentioned before but we got a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion point per game winger!

I also started rebuilding Arizona last week, craziest thing so far is Rantanen having a 70 then 67 goal season back to back...I don't think I've ever had a player put up those goal totals without completely cheesing the system

I’d have to see the save and what leagues are enabled. Could be a scheduling issue or something. Riz is going to be doing some EHM bug report debugging soon so I’d highly encourage you to make a post on the SI bugs forum I routinely post and upload the save to SI Cloud.
Thanks. I went and did that

Won my 2nd cup in a row :win:

Keller - Wright - Nylander
Saad - Lucius - Tuch
Fischer - Petrov (17th in 2023) - Sandqvist ( 8th in 2023)
Benito (72nd in 2023) - Hayton - Glover
Frost, Brooks (undrafted)

Chychrun - Soderstrom
Gostisbehere - Stenman
Bischel - Punnett
Sotheran (40th in 2023)

Sorokin
Lehner

Lucius is my best goalscorer. Seriously contemplating letting Ghost go to free salary since the younger guys are starting to push. Tuch would have been an option, but he's a beast in the PO so even with Sandqvist pushing I'm hesitating to move him.

how is Sandqvist doing for you? I got him 11th in '23, he won the Calder for me and so far has 510 points in 570 games as of 2034...

also get back to me when you win 3 in 4 cups! :D

Well technically I'm 2 in 4 right now (SCF, WCF, SC, SC) so not too bad. :DD

Sandqvist just had his rookie season., going 52 15-16-31. 2 of my 3 trainers think an hip flexor injury could haunt him though.

Keller fled to Chicago for basically the same money I was offering. However I was able to get Lafreniere for surprisingly cheap at around 4 millions for 6 years. Never found much success in NYR despite them winning the 2023 SC. He did have decent years in 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 (61 and 50 pts) but last year (38 pts) seemed like the last nail in the coffin. Pretty sure that will change with playing with either Lucius or Wright.

Ghost is pretty much confirmed to not be back as one of my RFA that signed after July 1st is waiver eligible and I'm not losing him over a 35 years old D. Bischel will probably pick up his role anyway.

Well technically I'm 2 in 4 right now (SCF, WCF, SC, SC) so not too bad.

well if you count SCF as a "win" then I went 5 in 7 in my teams peak... (SC, 2nd, SC, SC, SCF, 2nd, SCF)

as for me the player that "fled" was Joakim Kemell, but I've already ranted about him enough.

the one that bugs me a lot is Chychrun. 2 years ago my team wasn't making the playoffs, he was 34 and in a contract year. He had played over 1200 games for us while picking up 2 norris trophies and being an all-star 10 times (6 1st teams, 4 2nd teams)...

anyways my team was out of a playoff spot and he was making 10M/year, he had 37 points in 62 games at the deadline, and I traded him to Calgary, thinking they didn't have the space to re-sign him. at the time they were like, 2nd in the league.

I got really excited at the thought of acquiring 2 key D prospects and a 1st for him (even if that 1st was projected to be late).

I got even more excited when Calgary absolutely imploded! they went something like 4-18 in their final 22 games and missed the playoffs. So now I got the 3 pieces for Chychrun, the 1st was out of the playoffs so top 16, and I was gonna pull a little sneaky and sign Chychrun for like 6mill back to my team in the offseason.

well the pick is looking great!
Keller.png

however doesn't that bastard in Calgary re-sign Chychrun 3 days before free-agency opens up... to a 1 year 12.8M deal.

no worry, I'll pick him up at the end of NEXT year! Calgary make the playoffs this time, but lose in 6 in round 1. Chychrun signs ANOTHER 1 year deal!!! this time for 13.455!!!!!
Chychrun.png

maybe one day he will come back to retire as a Coyote where he belongs... :(

Keep sharing those stories guys, really makes me happy and fulfilled seeing people enjoying the game and makes all our work worth it!

idk if they still do this, but I remember TBL used to run like, monthly challenges on the latest version of each DB... putting restrictions on what players could and couldn't do, seeing who made it the furthest the quickest...

would be neat to get something like that going here on the bigger platform!
