No you didn't because that didn't happen.

This was the exact quote from the ref...

"After review, there was no major penalty on the play. The penalties as called were Dallas number 18, minor penalty for roughing and a 10 minute misconduct for continuing. Minnesota 24, minor for roughing. Teams will play 4 on 4 for 2 minutes"

NOTHING about reducing ANYTHING.
Roughing was a completely separate call.
Okay, I'm sorry for wasting all our time.

My first post immediately after that review last night was that it was reduced and it f***ed my memory. Then NHL.com confirmed my bias.

I didn't realize Dumba was looking at 7 mins of pims

No harm no foul in the end. We all make mistakes. :)

No, you seem to think when Domi's penalty was announced matters.

I watched the ref go to center ice and say the original call was reduced to 2 mins.

Unless you're arguing that Dumba got a 5 min major for getting jumped and that was reduced. Then IDK what to tell you, you'll never be found.

Lol your misremembering

Edit: I see your on board now

What if McDavid gets hit like that?
Still a 2?

Trying to insert bias and emotion to get someone to agree with your own bias and emotion doesn't make yours any more valid.

It sucks for Pavelski and I understand why Stars fans are upset, but there was nothing wrong with this hit.

Nah, no bias and emotion, it‘s a fact that McDavid would surely get different treatment.

Not a wild fan, their fans are not exactly the most educated but that was a clean hit, maybe a millisecond late but, it's clean. Although a few years ago mark Scheifele got 4 5 games for pretty much the same thing but Habs fans are bigger babies than Dallas fans so complained more.

Try actually watching the video. The first thing to that happens on contact is that Pavelski's head snaps back violently, within a single frame. That's clearly where the injury occurred and only happens due to shoulder to head being the initial point of impact.
Its almost like when I'm watching the video I can see a shoulder hit a shoulder.....so if my leg gets hit and my head snaps back I can complain about getting hit in the head?

Clean - Beautiful - Perfect hit. Need more of it in the game. These kids are soft - all they want are lacrosse goals and between the legs deke's. 10 ply...all of em.

If we want to talk about dirty hits, the 2 cross checks Suter layed on Kaprizov's back and kidneys were dirty.
What if I told you that one doesn't excuse the other?

The game is worse off for having predatory hits like Dumba jumping at Pavelski's head and Suter trying to destroy Kaprizov's kidneys. The eye-for-an-eye mindset that you aptly displayed is also partly to blame.

out of play hit (puck no place near either), and looked like a flying elbow ...Dumba's playoffs should be done.

A touch late means it was illegal…

No it doesn't. In the NHL you're allowed to finish your checks after the guy gets rid of the puck.

That's crazy, Pavelski had the puck a mere second prior.

maybe it was the video i saw, because it was a hit highlight... puck was no place near, and it was a dirty run.

Puck was very near and it wasn't dirty at all so must have just been the video you saw.

Clean hit, shoulder on shoulder...he just released the puck.

Wasn't the head. Wasn't the numbers. It was just a punishing hit as consequence for trying to make a play in the other team's zone.

That's the problem with hockey today. There is not to be ANY consequences for trying to make a play...and then we are suppose to marvel at how "great" players are.
It's even funnier people saying he was engaged with someone else as if that's an excuse. I hope these same people aren't the type of guys that stand around in a TEAM game and don't assist their teammates when they have the opportunity to do so. Next people will complain about players in the NFL assisting on a tackle.

In no way am I advocating an "eye for an eye mindset". I was just wondering if the same fans vilifying Dumba for his hit (which the league as called "legal") are also looking past the obviously illegal cross checks to Kaprizov. Are these same fans who are calling Dumba a "goon" willing to call Suter the same?
