I can see it. They’re routinely dismantling good teams with their best player injured. It’s hard to say they aren’t the team to beat in that division at this point.

They better give Blake a statue outside their arena if they go all the way.

Turns out Rob Blake CAN build the f*** out of a team

Just not the home team

So tell me how jazzed was Boston last year? Or Colorado, or Edmonton, or Florida the year before, or Toronto, or 31 other f***ing teams??

Wrong about LA being a good team, wrong about them being a contending team, you realize that most, if not all people who get paid for a living the shit we do for free, consider LA contenders, right? It's like you have no f***ing idea what it takes to win, it should be you put A and then B, add a dash of C and why the f*** aren't we winning tantrums come around.....
What does any of this bullshit have to do with Dubois playing like a dumpster fire?

Can you imagine if Winnipeg wins the whole thing this year? Lol!
I might just buy a Jets Vilardi jersey

I was a PLD fan but in hindsight, we dodged a bullet.

When I saw that you guys were trading Vilardi for PLD, it was on the same level of crazy as the Jets demanding Dach for him. Not a chance in hell. EVER.

I was baffled on why someone would trade a big young center who was breaking out. Then add a pile on top.

Rumour was that all we were offering is a very late 1st and Evans.

Whatever...this isn't about LA or the fans, this is about a selfish shameless donkey. If we got him, it would be a guaranteed donkey circus now.

At this point I wonder what it might look like to bring in a guy like Brendan Gallagher. Right shot, sandpaper, chemistry with Danault. PLD getting yeeted to Montreal would be funny.

Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Danault - Gallagher
Moore - Turcotte - Kaliyev
Grundstrom - Lizotte - Lewis

Can't help but laugh at this. Hasn't even been 200 days since this contract was signed and we're looking to get out of it. Perhaps Dubois will magically significantly improve seven years into his career...
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

it's not the trade value or the money, it's what PLD brings. He would be a 3 legged donkey circus in Montreal.

There are no takers for PLD at $8m. None. You guys are dreaming.

There’s also no way ownership accepts a buyout that Carrie’s a cap hit through 2037.

Our only hope with PLD is that he plays better. Blake has made his bed with this trade. He will need to sleep in it.
There were two teams that were willing to trade for PLD, one got him but offered far, far more then the next team.

How on earth can you change that now when his value is even lower?

Blake would want someone like Dach, which is dreamland or settle for Newhook. On the other hand HuGo would see a circus coming even if there was at zero asset cost. It would make Drouin fiasco look like a winner.

So now the question is, what other team besides dumb and almost dumber want him? If they weren't willing to step up before, why on earth would they want him now?

On the other hand, this may be a tiny window to trade him before his trade clause comes in and locks LA into purgatory. Maybe even add a 2nd or prospect as a sweetener.

Again, this has NOTHING to do with your team, just the donkey.

No one should be surprised by what we’re seeing from Vilardi right now. We saw it last year as well.

He had a stretch early last season where he was basically elite. But he eventually cooled off. Then he got injured.

It still remains to be seen what he is.

Evans is sweet, that would have probably been a 'fair' deal, which is why Blake grabbed his ankles

I don't think it does, really.

His trajectory has always been up. I don't understand why it's a surprise to anyone that a young 20s star keeps getting better, he's crushed every level, it's only his health that's a question. Part of why he cooled off was the usual TM games with powerplay time and deployment, which is understandable why he looks so much happier in WPG and conversely why PLD is such a f***in slug here.

We just traded Ryan Getzlaf, Cirelli, Trevor Lewis 2.0, and a 2nd for Dustin Penner. Can't wait to see what Dave Taylor has up his ass for Turcotte, Clarke, and whatever remaining 1sts and 2nds we have left before he gets canned and we re-enter the 2000s.

PLD traded for the playoffs? Oh that explains it. PLD thought that meant he can chill for 6 months and start playing for real in the playoffs. Can’t wait!
If this really the case then it is a bad gamble to make cause PLD isn't the type of player that can turn it on instantly. He isn't even close tpo superstar level.

What I fear, like a recurring Chucky nightmare is his agent spinning the "I love to play for my home crowd" and HuGo bites on it. From the last two trades, we know HuGo loves his reclamation projects, which actually look like they are working, which of course can feed an ego into stupidity, so why not the biggest gamble of them all.

The all-too-tempting difference is that the donkey is Quebecois and the locals are STARVING for a home grown star. With the cap going up and a low cost to acquire him may look tempting, too tempting, faaar too tempting, BUT, I see a 7 year circus if Dubois mails it in for the balance of his career. It's not like we got to go far in history to see how the Drouin fiasco worked out.

Is it possible? Let's not forget we got dumb and dumber in this donkey fiasco.

I'm an ex Montrealer and I can tell you for a fact that the donkey will have nowhere to hide in Quebec. He wont be able to go to a grocery store and not be noticed as the guy who let them down. I don't know about LA, but in Quebec its's far more personal. He will be either a God or a goat.

(BTW, I like how your team plays. We got a lot of talent coming but I don't know if our coach can put structure and hard work ethic into the team.)

The Kings had excess that needed to be shed. Iaffalo was a 4 mil player who was going to be on the 4th line. Kupari wasn’t really solidifying himself in LA. For some reason it sounds like PLD was an interest for awhile. The contract was a surprise honestly. PLD isn’t terrible. He shows flashes of dominance even. I doubt he will be more than his average 60 pts a year though. I do think being a 3c with pp2 time is going to affect his numbers. As is his wingers even tho many seem to think that’s a cop out. In comparison, Vilardi is on a line with the Jets top two players both having career years.

To me the worst part of PLD is he is lazy and seems disinterested. He seems like the type of player that floats often once he has his deal with term. At this point I’m just hoping he can get motivated and find his game around the stretch and into the playoffs. If I was coaching he would get a few games on line 4.
