Dont worry about it
I had a dream last night that it was the playoffs and Dubois decided to stay in the locker room and watch a movie instead of playing.

I asked Kopi why Dubois didn't play, was he injured or something? And Kopitar said "no, he just sucks".
A dream? Or a vision of the future? Are you a prophet of the hockey gods?

What movie?

What movie?
Can't remember in that detail. It was too vague.

For some reason I get the feeling it was one of those stupid early/mid 2000's era comedies. Ferrell/Sandler/Rogen type garbage.

I'd bet Dubois has great taste in flicks. He seems like a good dude and a lot of fun to be around. He is capable of some really strong hockey, but he just doesn't seem overly passionate about the sport. And unfortunately that is kind of the worst thing to say about an athlete.

I'm betting that he lights it up the second half. Like 10 goals and 10 helpers. lol

faceoffs are cool and all but the guy's not even shooting

last season in twice as many games, he had 3 times as many shots. season before, 3.5x

he was a power play merchant, but he's not even doing that any more

he took penalty minutes, he's not even doing that any more

the only comparable period i can find in his career is that partial season after he was traded to winnipeg where he sucked this hard.. i'm supposed to wait until next season for him to decide to play hockey?

I agree. It's crazy how much more I like him off-ice only to hate him that much more on-ice

It was part of the criticism we had around the time of the trade

The guy has put up most of his points playing wing

This org done f***ed up yet again with their dumbass scouting by trading a bunch of Cs converted to W for a W converted to C who will likely move back to W eventually

Trade is already basically worst case scenario, I'm waiting for Kupari to become Sebastien Aho, Durzi to be a Norris finalist, and the 2nd rounder to be Monnor CcDavid

I still think Dubois won't be completely judged until we see him in the playoffs. If he's like one of those regular season sleepers and then goes off, i'll be okay with it. Otherwise, I think he's going to be open to quite a bit of criticism from fans.

What if they don't make the playoffs this year?

Kings are one loss away from last year's pace and trending down

I think they'll make the playoffs but this myth about the team being so much better with Dubois and without the others is already starting to show cracks, particularly with each of the exports' teams doing so much better.

That's possible, but highly unlikely. I think a lot of fans are freaking out right now about the last stretch of games, but there are going to be peaks and valleys during a season.

Then you obviously can't judge him and Blake too. Not until we see him in the playoffs. Even then, the first time a guy gets to the playoffs with his new team (even if 2-3 years later), you can't expect everything to click right away. so maybe the trade and PLD/Blake can be evaluated in 5-6 years. LOL ;)

Can't lose out in the first round of the playoffs if you don't make it!

You know what is the worst thing about fans? We forget how lousy these players are on the very next goal.

On the Habs everybody was down on Anderson, he scores a few goals and all of a sudden..."he's back".

He's getting away with mailing it in because we the overdosing hopium fans let them. If we demanded performance or canceled contracts then then enforcing it by boycott, this wouldn't happen as much.

To me it can be only one of 2 things.
1. Nagging injury not enough to keep out of lineup, just enough to explain the diminished play.
2. He doesn't want to be in LA.

the kings are play money to AEG, they couldn't care less if we boycotted or whatever. first round playoff tickets probably negate any actual monetary problems an underperforming center could have

He's a big mystery, but I keep going back to the video of him and he does kind of have that Kopitar-esque quality of not being super intense on the ice. He definitely has the capability to do more. I'm hoping they will find a line that clicks better with him so his confidence can grow.

This misses the obvious...he doesn't care about hockey.
Or he doesn't care about it to the point that others do. Seems to be more mental than anything else.
