There is a hope, 2 good games in a row, hey that's something to be positive.
I would say three out of the last four have been strong.

He is bound to go to go on a 30+ points in 20 games heater at some point, happens every year.

It's not hate for Dubois. But there is a toxic combination of his poor statistical start, his rather obvious lack of engagement, the extravagant cost in assets to acquire him and the giant 8 year cap hit he is signed to. Its really a bad look so far, but it seems inevitable things will turn around for him at some point.
Thanks BLuc!!

Looks can be deceiving, you can see him thinking 3 steps ahead, now, that only hits a few times a game, but when it does, he's in a great position to score, but on defense, you can see him just thinking how to position himself, feels like, he's one of those players that just feels the game at a level much higher than the Lizotte's that he doesn't have to use as much energy, as much hustle as much as every one of wants him too, and you go watch him and go WTF half the time, you can see him just....strategizing while the game is going on, it's inherently frustrating, AND fascinating to watch

I get that but the results are not yet there. I remember the same argument against Carter that he did not try hard enough. Hopefully the results will come, but for now it just seems like his give a shit level is too low.

It's funny because on the play of his goal last night, I said wtf there's goes Dubois disconnecting his controller just floating around the net, then he quickly shifted and scored, and I was like, well, shit! Like RJ said, I think he's thinking a little too much which causes him to hover out there.

He's reading the play, he's not reacting after the fact, he's trying to anticipate it.....you can see it clearer in the defensive zone, the use of his body in the corners, you can see the wheels churning, if I turn this way, if I turn that way etc...

I get that but the results are not yet there. I remember the same argument against Carter that he did not try hard enough. Hopefully the results will come, but for now it just seems like his give a shit level is too low.

Process matters more than results.....long term.

Hated Roenick but at least he had a real career and we were rolling the dice in signing him.

Phaneuf was another player I hated but once again he at least had a career and I could kind of understand Blake’s thinking with that trade.

Cloutier was DL’s guy that I hated but at least he gave a crap, I thought he was terrible but he worked hard

Dubois (even in this short showing) has become my most hated king of all time. His play on the ice is an insult to all kings fans. He has physical attributes like an Eric Daze but somehow plays with less intent and passion than even Daze did which is unreal.

I am sure people will defend him and make more excuses but send him down to the Monarchs imo. If this is a systems issue let him sit and watch cause the line mates he has are not the problem, he is the problem on the line

thinking about Cloutier gave me flashbacks for a bit sorry lol
Cloutier does have that effect on people - that was DLs trade for and extend based on zero evidence of worthiness.. similar to a recent but even worse debacle in the Kings org

Maybe Bluc should go all in on under performing FC players from the Q and pick up Huberdeau and Lafreniere .. change the name to Les Rois and just be honest about it

Blame Crawford. The latter was considered a legit coach who would work with a guy who didn’t have many connections in Lombardi and “vouched” for Cloutier as a “friend of mine”.

Lombardi wasn't looking for a top goalie in Cloutier, he was looking for a fiery competitor in net to bring that element to a developing team. He was just too banged up to offer that. The problem was the extension, but that was likely a contingency to get him to sign.

Yes I do feel like that were was some handshake thing going on there based on Crawford having coached him.. still a massive blunder... but hey he got his cups.. but that was not good start to his tenure.

I'm a little concerned if Todd seriously thinks this is the "best hockey" PLD can play.
I think its just being politically correct about an issue our nut-hugging bloggers and company men refuse to ask.

I am spoiled by being a massive Premier League fan and Liverpool supporter. You wouldn't believe the criticism of a newer player like Darwin Nunez, who has been disappointing but 1000x better than Dubois.

I didn't read it that way. He has been playing much better. He still needs to take a few more leaps though.

I am pretty sure if he drank red bulls and went to the DMV that he would be a totally different guy. He was have that fire. Maybe a more practical solution would be to do this to him and make him read twitter between periods.

Maybe there was more context in the question but Todd didn’t appear to include a qualifier like “best hockey this season” or “best hockey so far with us.” Reads pretty all-encompassing as presented there.

I read this as played his best hockey of the season the last few games. Which is not wrong.

Hated Roenick but at least he had a real career and we were rolling the dice in signing him.

Roenick was a has been before he got to LA, then showed up fat. F him.

Dion deal made sense only because Gaborik was past his prime and went the other way. Still think LA should have held onto Dion on more year before the buy out.

Cloutier pissed me off because of the contract he received before playing one game. He did not need the new deal as he was in the final year of his contract i believe. So little different than PLD.

PLD, has a long way to go to my most hated King. Not sure who would be there for me. Roenick, Lemieux are two likely candidates though.

The Kings already had 4 LHD on the roster when they acquired Phaneuf, who was already done in the league with Ottawa. He couldn't keep up with the pace of the game with the then new rules. He was awful here.

The problem was that Gaborik was already considering back surgery and everybody knew it. The Kings dealt a surefire LTIR contract for a player they did not need and had to buy out the next year.

Dubois has a case of the Daigles.

He plays hockey for the money and because he (can be) is good at it. His passions lie elsewhere. He wants to be an entrepreneur.
