No he's RFA right now.Won’t Kopitar be finished his contract when PLD’s next one starts?

I mean in July 2024. Kopitar is off the books. For this coming season I would expect LA would sends money to the jets to balance the cap.No he's RFA right now.
I guess but it would need to be over 8M to send in cap space.I mean in July 2024. Kopitar is off the books. For this coming season I would expect LA would sends money to the jets to balance the cap.
No not that much. They will send some and find other ways to get complianceI guess but it would need to be over 8M to send in cap space.
PLD will never do that IMO.There's also the unconventional option of PLD signing 1 year at 8M with the Jets who turn around and deal him with 50% retention to LA and then on Jan 1 he signs a 8M x 7 extension
He still gets his 8x8
If that's the case AND we take iafallo and arvidsson back, you could include Helle at 50% as well. LA would actually be gaining cap.
To do so would involve a hefty return from LA though.
You're a real piece of work guy.I'm comparing my perspective to Horvat, Larkin, Hintz contracts. Deal with it.
Do you really think any member of the media knows what Brisson is asking for in sign/trade talks at the moment? You are too gullible bud. Even the good ones in the media have a accuracy % less than the weather man..
Dubois next contract is guess work. Could be $8M - $9M or $9M - $9.5M if someone wants to get aggressive. Of course the team starts around $8M and Brisson starts around $9.5M. Duh
There’s no reasons for PLD to accept this. So many thing can go wrong here. He will take the 8x years and be done with it. This only helps the team and might even gave them an out if PLD has a big injury or something else happens. There's also the unconventional option of PLD signing 1 year at 8M with the Jets who turn around and deal him with 50% retention to LA and then on Jan 1 he signs a 8M x 7 extension

He did last year.PLD will never do that IMO.
He's not risking a career injury with the biggest contract of his career on the line. I believe that chance are under .001% that he's only signing for 1 year.
I didn’t even know what to respond to his post. I think you did it better than I could ever imagineYou're a real piece of work guy.
First you say "It's all just opinion, we need credible sources".
Guy gives you a credible source.
"Do you really think that source knows anything, MY OPINION IS BETTER"
You're absolutely HILARIOUS, you know that? It's better to just stay silent sometimes, try it once and awhile.
True but he won't repeat that mistake again IMO. Brisson will cash in right now.He did last year.
Barkov is lifting his NMC to go live in Winnipeg? LOLDubois would fit like a glove in Florida.
Dubois + DeMelo + pick
for
Barkov
Tkachuk - Dubois - Bennett
Ehlers - Barkov - Connor
Really ruins all the good conversation we're having with normal Habs fans, it's a shame y'all have to deal with it.I didn’t even know what to respond to his post. I think you did it better than I could ever imagine

You don't have to deal with it.... there is an option to block posters you don't want to read.Really ruins all the good conversation we're having with normal Habs fans, it's a shame y'all have to deal with it.
With the possibility that Scheifele also gets traded this offseason I don't see the Jets doing any deal involving PLD without a top 6 C coming back. I don't think Dach is that, but he's the closest thing Montreal has other than Suzuki. The chances that PLD goes to Montreal without Dach going the other way are remote IMO.I ask for Dach every time a MTL fan offers Dvorak and I will continue to do so.
Dach played a large chunk of games as a top line winger last season with Caufield and Suzuki. Neither he nor PLD would end up on the 3rd line. Having extra high end centres isn’t a problem. Dach is going nowhere. It’s been rumoured he wants to go back to Quebec. If he goes to Montreal where dose that put Kirby dach,
Suzuki
PLD
Dach
I don’t think Dach wants to be a third line Center and I think He’s too good to be a bottom 6 player
Dach from Out west maybe he want’s to move closer to home . Some kind of sign and trade along the lines of Dach for PLD makes alot of sense
Winnipeg pretty much replacing their center their losing with a talented young Center
lol Barkov would fit even better in fla....Dubois would fit like a glove in Florida.

I find it amusing that after failing to get Chevy to budge last year, he's... yep, trying the exact same thing again, with - to be honest - approximately as little leverage.True but he won't repeat that mistake again IMO. Brisson will cash in right now.
In this case, if MTL is not ready to trade Dach and LA Byfield and PLD refuse to sign with anybody else long term, what happen? He's staying one more year in Winnipeg and get trade at the TDL?With the possibility that Scheifele also gets traded this offseason I don't see the Jets doing any deal involving PLD without a top 6 C coming back. I don't think Dach is that, but he's the closest thing Montreal has other than Suzuki. The chances that PLD goes to Montreal without Dach going the other way are remote IMO.
The same logic applies to Byfiled in the case of an LA trade. The Jets are going to need someone with the potential to be a top-6 C coming back in whatever deal they make.
PLD will never do that IMO.
He's not risking a career injury with the biggest contract of his career on the line. I believe that chance are under .001% that he's only signing for 1 year.
I guess it's possible, I agree but the value would be much lower for Winnipeg at the TDL IMO. He's worth more right now with a contract extension.Come on.

I hope Brisson and Dubois have calculated their line in a way that accounts for an "unforeseen" risk of all trades falling through again. As terrible a GM as Chevy is, he hasn't been bullied around in trades pretty much ever. Be it the Habs, the Kings or whoever they're talking with, the negotiations won't be easy.
Truthfully, I'm pretty sure PLD and Brisson made a mistake in announcing that PLD won't return so early on - now, the Jets don't have to even consider what PLD might want to do on the ice next year, let alone what his contract demands might look like in 2024. It's not their problem to deal with. Meanwhile, Dubois has that contract to play for, and however small the chances are, there is a real risk that PLD has to return to Winnipeg. Have fun playing for your big contract on a team that you effectively quit on (off the ice, to be specific) and that has zero interest in you long-term.
I might be wrong but I tought you had to wait till January 1st to sign another contract after the first deal, I might be wrong. He could sign his one year deal and then the following day sign his seven year extension. Where's the risk for him?
