He may be. He may not be.

If you're the team that's lining up to be his 5th team in 8 years and you've still got all those Montreal rumors swirling...how confident are you going to to be, giving up a huge package and investing in Dubois as part of your expected long-term core to build around? If you're one of those "maybe" teams.

Even if you do get him signed as one of those "maybe" teams...how confident are you that he's not going to change his mind and want out a year or two into the deal if he doesn't like how things are going, or doesn't like the coach, or really just wants to play in Montreal?
teams trading for him will also be talking contract I don't think they care about the montreal rumors if he is signing an 8 year deal with him, absolutely ridiculous to assume some of these teams would back out of an 8 year deal because they will be worried he is going to change his mind a couple years after signing an 8 year deal

Alright, I looked at this a bit closer given that the Jets are now likely shopping Hellebuyck. I am also expecting Scheifele and Wheeler to not be with us too so absorbing your dump and Dvorak should be fine.

I think I would swap out the Florida 1st with the Calgary 1st to make this more competitive, or if you don’t want to do that, I would sub out Barron/Harris and gamble on Hutson.

Your proposal could be viable.

I'd hate to upgrade the 1st, but it's not a deal breaker for me

Hutson is, tho

Hutson Is a lhd... so Jets have zero interest. Like zero.

Lol. You are just trolling now dude. Keep him. Keep all your garbage. It's gonna be fun when they deal him to nyr

I wasn't the one talking about Hutson, I informed one of you guys that suggested him that he wasn't on the table

Lol, who else, exactly, is better than Roy in your prospect bank lol?
Either that, or you will be stucked with him and the others, won't be able to sell any of your players, and everyone get out scott free at the end of this year and the next

Colorado, LA, Carolina, Boston - to start
Colorado has 5 signed forwards…sure, just add a rental.
Canes don‘t operate like that.
Boston has no first the next two drafts…smh. And they don‘t qualify Fredric because of reasons.

Why would LA switch from getting him in a sign and trade to a getting him as a rental? At the start of the season?

Roy would arguably be your best prospect, maybe Beck too

Meh..

Colorado is about the only team that might have interest in him among those teams. Carolina would only have interest if they are among one of the 5 other teams he would sign with. LA is pretty likely to be among those 6 teams he is looking at in which case we would have to see if they are interested and what their offer is.

You gonna look silly when he isn't traded to your preferred team

PLD has informed the Jets that he is not interested in signing any contract (even one year contract) . Why would he force arbitration then?

If it's only a threat. Call his bluff.
The team can force it.
(I'm not saying it's a good idea, I'm saying that it can happen)

I have no preferred team for Dubois. Actually I don‘t think his next team will be that happy with him.
LA might be okay for him as a destination because 95% of LA don‘t know hockey exists and 99,9% don‘t know who he is.

Avs and canes can always extend him. Jets can take cap back from Boston

But you see Sonny back in 1967 it was a 6th round pick so you should think it's even more valuable now. :wally:

Who knows. But literally all of them could give us a better pick than the one being offered.
If it is better then take it because time is ticking on the Florida 1st. If this is not wrapped up by the draft, I doubt the Montreal "24 1st will be in play by Hughes, so it may only be the '24 2nd available.

Name a few…I could not.

Why are you two even debating this? It’s already been reported that whoever gets Dubois gets him on a 8 years deal.

Ya’ll are fighting over nothing.

I mean we also have Calgary/Florida's 1st moving forward which would likely be available.

Well Dach was pacing at 53 points at 21 years old and really broke out in the second half of the season - Although his numbers doesn’t reflect that - mostly because he was playing with AHL players.

At this point I think I’m pretty confident he’s going to at least be able to produce/play a top center 6 role moving forward. Most likely as early as next year.
Maybe? PLD is a sure thing. Dach is a definite maybe.

You would do it for Boston but not Montreal?

Dach is two and a half years younger and was on pace for 53 points over a full season at 21 years old. Please spare me your definite maybe. He’ll be just fine.
Dach might be a centre. PLD is a centre. Habs would be making a huge mistake if they had a chance right now to trade Dach for PLD and didn’t do it. Unless, of course the plan is to stay at the bottom and continue to draft top five. Which is not a bad idea, considering they do need a lot more elite talent.
