For me, the baseline for any return is TDL value of roughly 20th+ 1st rd pick and a B level prospect.

If Chevy gets less than that, he lost the trade. If he gets more then that he won the trade or done well in the trade, considering the situation of course.

This is my opinion and I’m saying it now, bc post trade a bunch of people are going to back peddle on comments and suddenly change or move the goal posts.

If he gets moved to the Habs, that's what I expect.

If he's moved to another team (signed) I'm guessing there's a pretty good player or prospect involved.

The only reason literally is that he has wanted
To be in MTL since being drafted.

People see it as “why did he want out with 2 teams”?

It’s really quite simple.

Ok, thanks!

Lack of leverage then, not only for the Jets, but also PLD himself. Wish list has de facto only one team.

I’ll judge how Chevy does based on TDL value, if it’s more he won the trade, if it’s less he lost the trade. Obviously situation effects the return in general

The helle news today might actually help the Habs land PLD, bc now the jets might do a full rebuild which makes the Habs more capable of making a competitive bid compared to other teams who have much stronger win now pieces. Habs have some decent to good prospects, none great but lots decent to good.

What evidence do you have that Suzuki is better than Dubois?

Jets' fans are used to crybabies that want out...

Well for starters,
PLD would move Dach to wing very obviously. Come on.

Frederic was pumped up by Taylor Hall. It lead to amazing stats for Frederic and shit stats for Hall.

I think PLD's play style is more suited for wing than Dach. But I'd expect them to share C/W duties depending on matchup/side the faceoff is taken on.

funny, some guy on our forum said that he's going to rangers or devils, I think if we get 14 more people to randomly select 2 teams he's going to someone is going to be right
The guy on the Habs forum was at the Q draft and one can guess there's quite a few people aware of what'S going on in the Dubois clan.

Those things can change though. But LAK really does make sense.

It would be f***ing hilarious if Winnipeg wants current assets and end up with Danault.

Beck/Mesar/Calgary Pick from the Monahan trade + Floridas pick plus B prospect from the Habs.

I'd be happy with that.

Imo PLD’s purpose has been to gain leverage beyond his point totals in his coming contract negotiations to the club that trades for him. Bo Horvat did that and got 8.5 x 8 from the club that acquired him. I don’t know if PLD will return the same in trade value as Horvat but I think he’s getting a similar (if not more) contract from his new club.
Hughes knows he has leverage and getting PLD is a luxury. I’d be surprised he gets more than Suzuki

Im ok with that except for Beck. Beck imo is one of our top prospects. I wouldn’t pay all that for a guy we could get ina year if he REALLY wants to be a Hab

Beck just seems like hes going to be one of those highly hyped habs prospects that never really turns into anything special. Mesar on the otherhand looks like a dud right now but will probably end up being a 30 goal scorer if we trade him.

Off topic, but the proposal board is way busier than the SCF board. Kind of crazy.

Lots of stuff happening around the league and the playoff board features two of the teams with smaller fan bases on the forum.

That is the equivalent of 3 1st rounders, way too much for a career 60 point player.

I mean just over 5 years ago that Florida pick isn't even considered a 1st rounder....

With the Hellebuyck news, I'm reposting what I offered earlier

Dvorak (Ok center, a tad expensive contract, 2 years left. Ideally a 3rd center)

Hoffman (straight up cap dump, contract end at the end of the year. Could maybe be flipped at the tdl? Powerplay specialist, but dogshit on defense)

One of: Beck or Roy - both of them are solid prospects. Beck is a two ways center, in the mold of Phillip Danault IMO. Roy is excellent on offense, good on defense, à la Toffoli. IMO, Roy is the better prospect (he's a winger), but Beck plays center. Aside of Slaf and Hutson, those are probably our best prospects (with Mailloux)

One of: Barron or Harris - both of them have untapped potential, and both of them will play in the NHL for sure. I think that Barron has more tools, but Harris has more hockey IQ

Florida 1st 2023

PLD

You’re assuming PLD is traded to Montreal. Imo PLD is traded to a team other than Montreal and that team will sign him long term. The Habs would definitely want PLD. They only have Suzuki as a centre now that’s really a top six guy.
