Depends on the teams he choses, cap considerations, and level of interest for PLD. He's still very young so he might find another gear but he still reminds me of Ryan Johansen when he was that young.
I guess we'll soon find out.

Chevy and Hughes and Dubois' agent already have a good read on trade value. Now it's a matter of negotiations. Chevy will grind it out to get the best trade possible, and it's hard to know whether that will be higher or lower value than various fans expect.

Oh, is that what he said? Then they can have him, pal. :)

I have a weird feeling that isn't the case though, chief.
We don't care about your feelings. They don't matter. The team to offer the best trade pieces will get Dubois.
It might be Montreal, it could be a different team. It doesn't affect our fan base where he ends up.
Your emotional tantrums when there is a disagreement on Dubois value and /or the fact he may be willing to be traded to a different team doesn't change that he could end up somewhere else.
The fans and the organization want value for the trade. As fans we will have to wait to see what that value is.

Nice revisionist history. Lets take a look at how you really feel:

“Dubois is schooling whoever's matches with him”

“Dubois is the best player on the ice cant do anything about it”

“Man, I forget how much I hate Dubois sometimes. f*** that guy for game 3”
If your quoting my old posts it says there dominated game 3 with his hat trick

He didnt have much of an impact outside of that

Since then he hasnt done anything in the playoffs (funny how you ignore his production is worse than elite 3C JT in the playoffs)

Matthews had a dominat game 4.

Leafs choked in typical fashion and lost game 5 but if they win that game then no ones mentioned dubois.

He didnt produce in the deciding game just like Matthews

Matthews has since had strong playoff series vs tampa both years hes faced them

PLD has faded into becoming a Sean Monohan like player.

I tantrum? I barely post on the main board at all because it's a human wasteland of horrible trade proposals and delusional takes. I just think you guys are just delusional on what you're going to get.

You seem to be tantrumming. I personally don't care whether we get Dubois or not since we're rebuilding, but my belief is that he's probably going to the Habs at the draft and that you'll probably be disappointed with the return.

I guess we'll see who's right and who's wrong when that happens.

Agreed

Plus Habs GM just clarified saying Suzuki & CC were paid what they were bc they ELC and younger RFA, but said a UFA or a guy with more UFA years could be paid more by him. Paraphrasing.

I've said a million times for months now PLD will get 8-9 million from some team, people thinking less then 8 long term were dreaming.

PLD willingness to extend with 5-6 teams long term just raised the cost to get him a fair bit, still not going to be a king's ransom IMO but the cost just went up and will cost more to get him now then it did 24 hours ago
I actually see this as lowering his value. His interest in 5-6 teams is like me having an interest in a date with 5-6 actresses, unless they also have interest it means nothing. Two of the teams specifically mentioned have cap problems as is. Rangers and Wild, so unless they dump cap as part of the deal I don't see them as interested.
If all his list are not interested, what happens then?

At 9M for a 60 point player with red flags, I hope to hell Montreal is also on the list of not interested.

A deal might come down to which of PLD or Winnipeg will lower their ask or this will carry over to the TDL

I've said wait and see in one of the 5+ Dubois threads over the last 3+ months and everyone of them has Habs fans making insane statements. I've never actually stated my perceived value of Dubois, only that the best offer will win.

3- Do they have a prospect of Mesar / Tuch / Mysal calibre (no they doN,t)

Mesar: You mean a smallish guy who can't even break PPG in his D+1 season in the OHL?

Tuch: You mean a guy who is in 3rd year in the NCAA and is only a .5 PPG player?

Have actually looked at the profiles of prospects who go on to make it in the NHL and what kind of numbers they put up in the junior leagues? These guys aren't top prospects and are dime a dozen in the league, every team has a bunch of these guys. Jets have guys like these as well and I don't even consider them particularly promising or likely to make it to the NHL.

I think it's more likely we see something like:

Florida 1st
Kidney or Beck
Harris (LHD, but has played a ton of RD in the past)
Dvorak or Hoffman (basically flipped for other assets at the trade deadline assuming rebuild)

So a late 1st, a C prospect with potential, a young D who plays both sides and a roster player with little value.

Kotkaniemi for Dubois straight up.

KK is signed long term, and so theres no worry about him being a flight risk from Winnipeg.

Dubois' high salary ask can be managed by Carolina and they could use an immediate upgrade at C.

Of course this is assuming Carolina is one of Dubois' chosen teams.

It’s just so hard to find a trade with Montreal. Their roster is just devoid of reasonably tradable players.

No wonder we get shovelled a bunch of slop.
indeed WPG wants a Hockey trade 1 on 1 , but MTL dosen't have a player willing to trade that way.
If it happens it will be a quantity for quality

What would likely be his list of 5 teams?

Would Boston be on it as a rival to his childhood team? Or is Boston close enough to his favorite watering holes in Montreal?

What’s his likely list of teams besides Montreal?
My assumption:
1 - Montreal
2 - New York City
3 - Los Angeles
4 - Tampa
5 - Boston
6 - Toronto

Fair, but I wasn't responding to you, I was was responding to someone with an equally-delusional take on your side.

There are a metric whackton of Habfans out there, maybe more than any other franchise. Some of their takes won't be great, as I'm sure is the case with your fanbase.

Remind me, didn't you want Dach?
did I say anything about dach? I said the poster was in denial because he said we were going to get a late 1st b prospect and a cap dump like the horvat deal ignoring the fact that pld is willing to extend with 5-6 teams

if pld tells the jets that he will go to montreal on july 1st and sign a cheap 1 year deal, it forces the jets to make a deal otherwise he leaves in 1 more year and the jets get nothing, also no tampering if it is done by pld approaching the habs, besides the jets have known for a long time now that pld wants out of the peg, this type of tactic helps to get it done, what would the jets gain by keeping a player for 1 more year that they can not trade if they are in a offer sheet situation. what is stupid about a concept that gets something done? the reality is the jets have lost leverage by not acting last season.
Not true. They can trade him anywhere. Colorado and other places not just Mtl.
