Looks like PLD isn’t going to Montreal. Guess you will have to go back to Dvorak as your 2C, but hey he only cost you a player who was 3rd OA and a 2nd round pick. Now that’s a LOL.
Dach is our 2C.

You better believe Chevy is offering PLD to Montreal for 5OA. I wonder how that conversation goes. WPG also picks at 18, maybe they have to get creative.

3 years ago he was traded for the recent 2ndOA - 40 goal scorer - Laine.

Has his value dropped during his time in WPG? Perhaps, but I wouldn't say a ton. He's still only 24 and went 3OA in 2016.

A sign and trade with a deal in place to play in Montreal - say 7 years at 7.5 million. Could make it interesting.
The sticking point is how nasty this draft is. No one wants to give away a golden ticket this year and at 5 there is a ton of talent.
Probably not going very well for Chevy

And there isna huge difference between a PPG 1C and a 60pts 2nd C.

And at the time of the trade, NYI pick was not 17oa. It was a pick from a playoff team thay could've ended anywhere between 16 and 32

Horvat was traded on January 30th. The Islanders had the 14OA 1st round pick... and a non-playoff team could advance up to 10 spots to 4OA using your logic DERP DERP.

LMAO. This guy again - you're a laugh a minute.

So the public part is he won't re-sign in Winnipeg

Is the private part he only wants to go to Montreal?

Would he consider re-signing in New York, Colorado or Toronto for example?
That's the whole problem. No one knows.
What we know.
He won't resign with the Jets.
He is willing to go to a few teams for next season.
He has a desire to play with the Habs.
So his trade value is that of a 1 yr rental.
Only contenders will be willing to trade for him as Non-contenders will not be willing to spend assets for a one yr rental.

I am more than happy to look at either contract on the Jets' CF page, if it comes to Winnipeg with the fifth overall attached to it.
Right, and I'm sure the Habs would be more than happy to take either Wheeler or Scheifele, if it comes with the 18th overall attached to it.

For someone so knowledgable about the pick, you don't know that it was top 12 protected. Meaning best case it was 13th.

No frown. Jets are going to cash in, PLD is going to cash in, Habs are left out again like usual and are going to go in to next year with the same team, with the same results. Life is great.
Yep the future is bright for the Jets. Couldn't be better! lol

I guess some montreal fans just want to ignore everything that says he's willing to go to more then just montreal lol

The plan is for Winnipeg/Dubois to do a sign-and-trade to get that 8th year. He’s 100% being traded with a contract already pocketed

Again I'll ask the question, has anyone actually heard any other team names? And if so which teams could accomodate without major surgery by the 1st.

Example, Dubois to NYR, They'd need to gut the team and find suitors for the piece they'd need to accomodate

Someone is going to be disappointed in this exercise.
5 or 6 teams he will accept a trade too
salary that starts with a 9
Jets want a decent return.

The ven diagram of teams he will accept a trade to, teams that will pay him 9M and teams that will meet the Jets asking price may not have an intersection point.
He may have to lower his salary ask or expand his 5-6 team list and jets may need to accept less than what they expect. He is not Matthew Tkachuk coming off a 115pt season.

Actually one team that I could see being a great fit beyond montreal is pittsburgh, need to stay competitive, add Dubois to remove some strain on Malkin who can become the guy after the Core guys sail off

Id rather go Dvorak if the price to pay for a second liner toxic at 8m+ a year.

He can go be toxic anywhere else

Also LOL delusional jets fand thinking they will get kings ransom

Now that the scuttlebutt from reliable sources is that Dubois will negotiate with 5-6 teams for an 8-year sign and trade, what do you think the winning bid will be?

Dvorak, Kidney and a 2nd?

Change the 2nd to a 4th. lol

so he only wants to go to montreal because the other 5-6 teams weren't listed by name? jets will have plenty of cap room to make a trade work this won't be a hard trade to accomplish

Meh, He seems to want to play in a big city. I'd take him for sure though.

You don't know how to read?
I do know how to read but you clearly don't considering you stated "
"He is willing to go to a few teams for next season. He has a desire to play with the Habs. So his trade value is that of a 1 yr rental." after the report came out saying he is willing to sign long term(8 years) with 5-6 other teams lol

That wasn't my question, my question was which teams could he fit with that they could accomplish without major surgery frankly I doubt think he ends up on Montreal now.

Example if we assume he wants to go to NYR to fit, they're trading assets for an upgrade on Trochek. So as the poster above me did the venn diagram. does the upgrade on Trochek, + the extra salary + the assets you'd need t give up make it worth it for them.

To WPG: 5th overall + Dvorak

To DET: 18th overall + Jordan Harris + Riley Kidney/Owen Beck

To MTL: 9th overall + PLD

Who says no? Maybe WPG or MTL adds a pick going to Detroit

My thinking is WPG makes out very well as is with 5th + Dvorak for 18th + Grumpy PLD

Detroit drops from 9 but gets to pick back to back at 17 and 18, and they add a NHL d-man coming off a good rookie year and solid center prospect, 2 big needs. Hurts to trade away 5 for MTL but only dropping to 9 and adding a couple smaller pieces for PLD is doable
