Source? I googled and saw a million rumours of him being traded to Montreal, but nowhere did I see insider reports that PLD actually wants to stay in MTL. Not saying its untrue, but asking for a legitimate source.
It's the typical use habs for money

In reality this kid wants big money and a really good team and then sit his ass down

Earth-shattering news. The thing about Dubois stating clearly that he wants to go to Montréal is that it removes the incentive for the Canadiens to trade for him, since they are going to get him anyway, and it heavily reduces his value on the trade market, since all other teams know he is a pure rental. Boy, does trading him to Winnipeg look better everyday for Columbus.

Winnipeg saying they don’t want to rebuild, what about a deal with Vancouver?

Much better producer in Miller but older by 5 years.

What about,

To Vancouver: PLD

To Winnipeg: Miller, Hoglander, Toronto 3rd.

I’m guessing Winnipeg fans won’t like this, but keep in mind your own GM said there isn’t going to be a rebuild. Miller is a PPG player under long term contract. Hogz is a stud and had a great year in the AHL.

Canucks get a core appropriate aged player who’s a traditional big Center. Slots in perfectly as the 2C behind EP40.
Don't hate it depending on what we do with Scheifele and Helle. If we can sign those guys with Miller on board, I think we come out ahead lineup wise adding Miller + Hoglander which would be a miracle

raymond for a signed dubois . would be a gamble for us taking on a head case , but i think yzermans leadership group could straighten him out . and winnipeg gets a very young feasible top line winger

Jets likely say yes to this as it fits into their "retool on the fly".

The Habs available/expendable asset base is the definition of meh right now.

I don't think he will be dealt to MTL this summer.

If Montreal offers Anderson, Mailloux and a good pick they should take it.

Unfortunately Winnipeg is probably on Anderson’s NTC list.

If I’m Winnipeg I ask that Mailloux is on the deal, a 6’4” physical RHD with a big shot doesn’t grow on trees.

The Jets organization won't be trading for Mailloux with his baggage, regardless of how touted he is.

I don't mind that but presumably PLD would have to be ok with Vancouver.

I like it when a player stands up for his right to choose. He doesnt owe Jets (or Jackets) anything. He played his mandatory contracts out and paid his dues. Additionally he stayed honest what he wants to do to give the team a chance to plan ahead.

Just because there is a forced draft system shouldnt mean you are bound to spend your life somewhere you dont want to be in.

The 31st pick is generous now? LOL
Yes because what other team is going to trade for a player who is leaving next july and be stupid enough to pay the jets asking price, also remember no team ponied up for pld last year , if the jets would have received any offer close to their wishlist the trigger would have pulled on a trade, jets are getting nothing but low ball offers.

Montreal would be stupid to pay for PLD. They can just wait a year and get him for free. The only scenario where I can see Montreal trading for him is if Armia+Hoffman is dumped in that trade. With a 1st + A-prospect ofc.
I see it more likely that PLD would be a 1yr rental for teams like Avs, Blues, Devils or Canes.

You never do the shift he did in Columbus.

He quit the team and quit the team during game.

I’ve said all along, and will continue to stand by it, this would be my offer from a Habs standpoint.

To Winnipeg:
2023 1st (Acquired from Florida)
Choice of Barron or Harris
Christian Dvorak (cap purposes)

To Montreal:
Dubois - signed to a 7.85 x 8 year extension.

Given the current situation, I think it’s fair and similar to the Horvat return.
Barron is a no go. They take Harris or we just wait.

- Aaron Portzline, beat writer from Columbus said that it was already known in 2020 that PLD wanted to play in Montreal

- Friedman - 95% chance PLD ends up in Montreal
But But But....

Anderson, Beck & 2nd
Wow our expectations are dropping faster than a rock.
