Sorry, I pass. You're too focused on belittling vs talking about the actual hockey subject. I have a firm opinion and you have a problem with it. Deal with it better than how you are managing that right now.

Several Habs fans have posted multiple trade packages with all sorts of different values. We are interested but not desperate. Not sure why that is hard to comprehend. I think you are frustrated with the hole situation and I don't blame you but don't blame that on us. Your GM created this situation by thinking Dubois would stay when he traded for him.
ok, I won't belittle you anymore, can you please fax us the paper work of one of the proposals so we can get this over and done with?

It is getting less likely by the day that he’s going to Montreal after all. Today article from Basu pretty much killed that idea. Not only is Montreal not willing to give up Dach but they also don’t want to pay PLD 9M per. They would be open to a similar contract that Hintz got but they are not comfortable giving more.

Hughes also wants to build a package around Dvorak, Anderson and picks. That doesn’t seems like the kind of news you would expect to hear if you want PLD to go to Montreal

Could just be posturing before the sides give in to a fair compromise.

Wonder if this is heading to a draft day showdown.

Chevy the Grinder almost always gets his price.

The article was an opinion piece by Basu and Engels was saying the opposite.

Yeh I just don't see the Habs wanting it, bc PLD will want more then either CC or Suzuki on his contract and they are still rebuilding so don't want to give up a bunch of futures and chevy doesn't sound like he wants futures as the main piece and Habs don't really have any win now pieces that aren't the kids.

Will PLD go to the Habs? Possible but seems less and less likely everyday from both sides POV. I suspect PLD will be buying a home in Cali in the near future.

Caufield probably was laughing at Dach's faceoff percentage and hoped that Pierre-Luc would be his center. "I'm a small guy, Pierre-Luc! It's not like Suzuki will have my back in a scrum. Come play with me!"
You still talking about Dach and does Dubois even fight ? Xhekaj has Caufield's back

I think Cole told him .....ahh man your lucky to be going to California to get away from Canada's crappy winter weather.
If Caufield felt that way he would of done what Dubois did with you guys and not sign a 8 year extension with us some people rather be playing in the biggest hockey cities

Could be. Florida moving back from 17 to 31 makes it so much more difficult to find a common ground.

Looked to me to be more than opinion and Engels said pretty much the same thing except that if Montreal miss on a top center at the draft they will circle back to PLD.

The emergence of Dach at the end of the season makes it easier for Montreal to pass if they don’t get it at the price ($) they want.

As for the asking price, you are right. Habs are in a weird spot where the current assets on the roster are either worth to much (to their eyes) or not enough in Winnipeg’s eyes. It also doesn’t help that Winnipeg biggest need (RHD, C) is something Montreal also lack of and can’t really afford to move (except for Beck).

A few more days to go yet. No idea where he lands. Still think the Habs have the inside track but I don't blame Chevy for exploring every option possible.

Hopefully it doesn't drag past the draft. Doubt it because I read somewhere the Jets are not offering arbitration so it really does seem he's being traded before the draft or on draft day.

Once he is traded, we can then evaluate what we said as fans and compare it to reality.

We will find out who has the ability to admit they were wrong and who will try to justify their wrongness with bullshit arguments and gaslighting

Not the same. Think about all the Montreal connections over the last year and now this. If you were Brisson and were trying to negotiate a sign/trade with one of the other 5 teams, I don't think this helps. Eichel was not connected to any team like Dubois was with the Habs. Not the same situation.

How well do you think Dubois and Caufield really know each other? I don't know. Anybody have information on that? Seems like a weird time for them to be hanging out to me.
It was for F1 and Brisson had other players and clients there.

I personally have no interest in Dach, not sure if he's really any solution for the Habs at 2C.........IMO more likely at wing or 3C. IMO Habs want to find their 1C at this years draft, Suzuki is really a 2C and likely Habs know that. PLD is a 2C and not a 1C solution either, not saying he couldn't play wing or run two 2C with Suzuki & PLD but I doubt it. I think Habs go via draft to get their 1C and would like to get PLD for free as a UFA and play him on the wing.

As we agree I doubt a trade happens between the Jets and Habs, not saying it couldn't happen but doubtful. Habs don't want to trade the only good roster kids they have and don't have any good vets to trade and Chevy doesn't want a bunch of futures he wants win now pieces.

I hear the Jets don't want a rebuild but wouldn't that be best? Lets say they like the Vilardi+ package from the Kings and Vilardi turns into a 40-50 pts center. Wouldn't it be better to take a shot at someone not turned pro yet? Habs trading Beck could back fire on us like it did with Suzuki/Knights. Not probably but possible.

If the Jets are after more NHL ready guys. That list is Barron, RHP, Harris, Farrell, Heineman. I'm hesitant on trading Barron due to our RD depth in the pool but open to it.

Can't wait for the trade to happen so we can re visit all that was said over the last year.

If you can secure the top 6 centre positions for the next 7-8 years with both centres being in their prime, that should be very desirable.

If the Habs cannot secure a centre they like with 5OA, or if the Jets force the issue prior to the draft, and if you aren’t confident that Dach can fill that role (Dach only had production as a winger to Suzuki and Caufield, not as a centre), this could be a smart play.

If Habs trade Dach for Dubois, maybe that’s considered by some as horizontal but again, it secures your top 6 C spots for 7-8 years.

As for contract AAV, salary cap is expected to jump after next season. Maybe Dubois settles in at $8.5AAV when it comes to it.

Montreal may indicate that Dach is untouchable but I don’t think so. When it comes right down to making that call, I think Chevy pulls Dach out of Montreal rather than get those B prospects.

That’s the Guffman call if a trade goes down with Montreal.

I know it was for F1 but Caufield/Dubois hanging like they are great friends, only adds noise on top of all the noise we have seen over the last year. Do Dubois/Brisson care? Maybe not but what is the connection between Caufield and Dubois? It can't just be Brisson as their agent. Do you think so?

Is Caufield the one who is trying to dig into it and cause a stir? Possible.

Adding talent isn't a bad idea, but its about what they can get at the draft with the 5th OA and priorities..........

How come?

I don’t think he’s a centre solution for Winnipeg but I wouldn’t scoff at having a big bodied winger with offensive touch. Not much else to ask for from Montreal.

My point is yours, I don't see him as a top 6 center, he's more a winger or 3C IMO. Winger and 3C is fine but not the top priority for the Jets to target IMO

Habs would need to move up to #2 or 3 to get our number 1 center and that would take a fortune dont think we have the assets to trade for that

The numbers dont show it today but theres a reason all Habs fan value Dach's potentiel he showed us at the end of the year that he could become a great player if he keeps improving hes only 22 years old some big guys take longer some can call me crazy but i think Kirby at 24 will be a better player then Dubois

I don’t think it’s that deep. A group of clients getting together at a big event doesn’t make me immediately think it’s anything deeper then just a get together. Is it possible they were trying to do something? It’s possible but I highly doubt it. From everything that’s being reported, it sounds like there’s still a lot of work to do when it comes to both a trade and signing so It’s way to early to have PLD and Caufield hinting that something is close to being done. We saw what Dubois and his agent being at the draft last year turned into.

If I was Brisson, I would manage it to avoid the distraction. There has been enough of it over the last year.

You're crazy

Well, what are they going to get at 5th overall? Centres may all be gone by then. If I was the Jets, I would try and force the issue before the draft.

That’s fine for the Jets to try and get a (potential) top 4 RHD or 2C from a Dubois trade but will they? We have other trade chips (like Hellebuyck) to try and backfill.

If Jets had a choice in the matter, they’d keep Dubois long-term rather than try to flip for Dach.

”Potential” is nice to dream about but often it goes unrealized and settles below the ceiling.
