These "pace" arguments that have been popping up recently make my head explode. Scoring 63 points in 73 games doesn't ahkshually mean you're a 70 point player.
But it does mean that when that player is in the lineup they have the same offensive impact that a player who scores 70 points in 82 games does.
The biggest difference between the 63 point player and the hypothetical 70 point player is durability, and how much value you put on those missing 9 regular season games.
Pace should only be mocked when using very small or hand picked sample sizes, like a player scoring 14 points in 18 games during the middle of the season.
For all intents and purposes, pld affects the game like a 70 point player does, and Cole caufield affects the game like a 40 goal player does
