The bolded is simply laughable.

Beck + 31st. I edited the post with Ylonen as the last piece. I honestly don’t know what else to add that’s already a lot of valuable assets
No, it is not, really.

You are seriously calling the 31st pick and Owen Beck ( the 33rd pick last year and a guy that finished 43rd in OHL scoring in his D+1 year) and Ylonen is a "lot of valuable assets"? For a guy that will be one of your best players for the next several years?

Yes I think Beck + 31 + 37 + Ylonen is a very valuable package
Now that is a good offer. Tons of risk for the Jets. But some real potential.
“Tons of risks” lmao It automatically becomes 4 of your 5 best under 27 pieces and maybe even your 5 most valuable since Pefertti is really struggling both offensively and defensively and could very well flop

I'm just here for when he signs long term with someone other than Montreal and the Habs fans turn on him.
Several Montreal fans have already stated they either don’t want him or they only want him at the right price. I think you’re overestimating the fan bases desire to get him. He’s an intriguing player with some not insignificant red flags.

if I was a habs fans I would leave some possibility that he is willing to go to another team...
He is absolutely willing to go to another team. More than a few in fact. And if one of them has the cap space to meet his contract demands, thinks he’s worth his contract demands, and is willing to give up better assets to acquire him. Good for them. I wish him and them the best.

Montreal has interest. But that doesn’t mean the interest is unlimited. Hughes won’t get into a bidding war If there’s a team that’s he’s willing to sign with that wants him more. I’m sure he has a ceiling in mind for what he’s willing to give up for PLD and I doubt very much that price includes the likes of Dach (which was one of Hughes’s first big acquisitions as Montreal’s GM)

I can offer more I believe;

Florida 1st
Calgary 1st( top3 protected)
Justin Barron
Owen Beck

Better?
Sure why not give up 4 assets that are cost controlled and the equivalent of 4 1st round picks, to put all your hope in a 63 point player looking for at least 8M x 8? Add to that the cost of replacing a potential future 3rd line center and 2nd pair defenseman. Rebuilding teams don't make trades like that, teams like Colorado or Toronto whom a 2nd line center is needed in their window do. If you are willing to give up assets like that, you might as well just offer sheet a bona fide superstar in a couple of years when the team might actually be good and give the 4 1sts then. Dubois minus what you are giving up makes the team worse in 3 years, not better.

My favourite aspect of hockey analysis is when two people can watch the same player play and have two exceptionally different views on them.

To me, Anderson with his contract has negative value. He is big and fast but is awful defensively. Offensively he is one tricked with his north south rush, but is incapable of cycling the puck and incapable of high impact passes. This is a player who gets heralded for his "goal scoring" ability, yet struggles to crack 20 goals despite playing the majority of his time with the top two units of Montreal.

He gets lauded with these "intangibles" as if points do not tell the whole story, but if you are incapable of making a key pass, or cycling the puck despite your massive frame - you are killing more offence than creating. Especially with his tendency to blow his coverage. With a contract pushing 6 million, that's a no go for me.

If Anderson didn't have the little flaws you are talking about, he would be worth a $7M Power forward rate. Because he is not a perfect forward, fans dwell on it and lower him down to a $4M or less player. Truth is in the middle usually and it applies in this case.

Anderson is paid fairly for what he does. He's also that type you want on your roster for the playoffs. He's valued by our management and around 50% of our fan base.

What the fook is this lol

Chychrun says hi
OEL before him too haha

I agree Anderson is much more of a playoff asset than regular season compiler. Issue I see with him is the NTC otherwise I think he would provide the Jets a lot of what they will be losing in PLD. Some of it anyway.

I'm not sure if Gorton/Hughes has Anderson in the mix or if Anderson has the Jets on his NTC list. Personally, I do see what you see but others don't (from the Jets perspective). I rather have both Anderson and Dubois because the Habs have had a smaller type team for years and I rather avoid that. Anderson's goal scoring power, skating/size are good assets to have. Regardless of how inconsistent he is. One thing I do know is he shows up in big games and he has multiple gears to his game.

If the Habs and Jets can't come to terms on a trade. I do wish you guys luck on what you get from someone else. I would not wish the Trouba and Dubois situation on anybody.

Anderson is just a complementary piece to a playoff team in their bottom six, problem is his contract, NTC and the Jets aren’t a playoff team so he’s pointless to them IMO

Meanwhile, on the Habs forum, there is a 6,000+ post thread about Dubois with a survey answered by 558 fans. 86.4% of Montreal fans want to sign him.

Yah....Habs never do this lol

Barron and Beck are no go.

Horvat was traded for a 1st B prospect and cap dump. PLD value is the same.

FLA 1st in 2023 or CGY 1st top 15 protected
Mysak/Kapanen/Harris/ any prospect not named Hutson Beck Kidney Mailloux Barron
Cap dump (Dvorak is the same as Beau)

Is going to be the best package Habs put forward for a 60pt 2nd line C who'll be asking for 8+

Clearly knows nothing about Perfetti. Just a stats watcher here.

Better sell Slafkovsky now, maybe get a 5th rounder for him, heading towards busting...
