tanev +1st

For

Drouin +1st

I know this had been beaten to death but haven't seen this proposal yet.
Swap 1st and the difference in value between drouin and Tanev is made up in the 1sts. Tampa can draft a young cost controlled forward at the top of the draft and Vancouver can add some depth in the mid 1st and add a legit 1st line Lw who's the same age as horvat

Avs:
Drouin
Coburn (for cap reasons)

Lightning:
E. Johnson

Avs then use Duchene to acquire another D man (or a few D prospects/picks) and re-unite Drouin with Mac. EJ with Hedman or on a 2nd pairing would be a thing to see.

Coburn is not a negative value throw-in here.

Drouin was nearly ppg since the start of December this year, and he is a living highlight reel. He's got elite stickhandling, awesome vision and IQ, a deadly shot and insane agility.

I know all about Drouin....I live in Halifax. And yes he was good since Dec 1...he was at a 69 point pace. Still not as good as Hall having 2 years ABOVE PPG.

Again, Drouin is not worth close to Karlsson.

Eh... I'm not too thrilled about Ghost honestly. I worry about him being Bergeron (not the good one - the bad one).

Comments like this are just so wrong.

Bergeron had 46 points in his career high, then 35 as his next best. He also played right after the lockout with all the penalties being called during those 2 years.

Ghost had 46 in 64 games as a rookie then had 39 this year in a "bad" year in a much less scoring league, coming off of hip surgery.

So unless you think Ghost becomes a sub 30 point guy, there is no comparison to MA Bergeron

Oh....and I guess we already know Drouin's approximate value....a signed Shattinkirk. Ghost being a RFA is close to that value IMO.

Jesus - chill. The comparison is obvious. Good at offense, terrible-to-awful at defense. Ghost is bad defensively. His SCA/60 is almost 10 despite very favorable usage. His GA/60, CA/60, FA/60 are all high considering he's not a guy that plays a heavy defensive role.

Yeah but Drouin hasn't been over PPG yet. I agree with you. Have zero interest in Ghost if the cost is Drouin. TB would regret that deal for years.

And watch in upcoming years when his pairing partner is better. This year he had Manning, last year AMac as his partners. Not exactly rocks to lean on as an offensive dman.

That's all well and good, and I'm not saying that Ghost can't be good in his role - but his role is not something that Tampa is in the market for, at least not for Drouin. We can argue relative worths all day, but at the end of the day Tampa wants a two-way guy that is good defensively in the top 4, not an offensive Dman. We have Hedman, we don't need an offensive guy. A guy that can chip in 30 points while playing good D is just what the doctor ordered, though.

A full season next to Stamkos and the offers would be something stupid. He needs a full season next to a goal scorer to draw out his real value

He'd look especially good next to Tanner Pearson and Jeff Carter!

One of Dumba or Scandella with additions as needed.

Other interesting guys. I think each of the obvious teams with surplus D (Anaheim, Minnesota, Nashville) have pieces that are attractive, and Drouin is attractive to those teams. A deal can be found if both GMs are interested in making one.

There is no consensus here on Shatty's value.

Also Drouin is ~ 2 years younger than Hall was.

Ok...

So let's get this straight. Are you willing to admit Karlsson is worth an absolute **** load more than Shattenkirk?

If so, the answer has already been made (it has).

If not, you are delusional.

1. Obviously Karlsson>>>>>>Shattenkirk
2. What's your point? I said he won't get a Karlsson level guy, the same way Hall didn't get a Subban.
