If we can get Norris for same range as Batherson then our top line is very manageable cap wise.
Norris will get more I suspect but he deserves it. Should have two seasons matching Bathersons offensive production while being leaps & bounds better defensively. I expect something in the 6.25-7.25 range if we go 6-8yrs.

Drake has the talent to get more than 35 goals. Not sure if he'll get 50 but he should get atleast 40 in his prime. He's a goal scorer through and through.

Drake has never been a goal scorer. He's a playmaker who just happens to be very talented with a very good shot so he can score as well. If his linemates are not finishing his set ups, he will take more shots and score more like he has been doing so far.

It's exactly like Bobby Ryan. For a long time people thought that Bobby was a goal scorer. Once he had several hand injuries and his shot declined, his playmaking skills were more evident because he wasn't able to beat goalies clean anymore.

I think the turning point for this guy's career was when he was called out on TSN by Garrioch. Clearly the players have a deep respect for Brüce, and Batherson didn't want to let the guy down any more.

Norris has the best slap shot on the team right now, and is definitely a good scorer.

He needs to teach Stu how to do a one timer right this second.

Stu is always on his forehand side taking deep wrist shots. I'm sure he can one time a puck on his off wing, but I also think the way Norris does it is super sneaky, he eventually finds his space and when fed he puts it in the net.

I just see Jimmy taking a pass and then pausing to pick a spot and by then the goalie is set and he makes what looks like an easy save.

If Jimmy would onetime those passes he would have a handful of goals by now because he’s had empty nets to shoot on several times!

He’ll get there I bet.

Yes but they've been mostly forehand opportunities

You have to remember the puck that Jimmy onetimed out of the air as it went cross rink and was probably 10 feet up in the air. The timing and skill on that was crazy

He is an awesome talent, don’t mean to seem down on the kid at all. To me it’s more like McDavid adding a one timer (obviously not as talented).

It’s a knitpick on some of those PP chances where he’s looking to pick a spot instead of hammering it.

He can't hammer it like Norris unless he's in Norris's position on the ice. Both left hand shots

I know it is a long shot, but with a good first half of the season, does Drake get any Team Canada consideration?
