Hell of a stretch at the moment, and looks as best as he has ever been, with a more physical edge to boot

Id say “he’s started to hit a few guys” … the last few games he’s played like the prospect we heard about.

Still lots of room to go.

He’s like a ball
Of offensive energy. Constantly doing the most dangerous thing in the O zone

You're ready for the show with scouting reports like this. I want to be the 1st subscriber to the Burrowsaurus Youtube channel so give me a heads up.
One of the best scouting reports I ever saw was Kyle connors on some f***ing site. It was like “explosive slater with deadly agility with lethAl offensive weapons”. I need to find it.

Who still thinks this guy isn't a very skilled & top line player? The same can be said for Norris who is also playing very well, in fact, that top line has dominated for parts of games & the PP looks really good with those three on it. Both guys played great in Belleville & have continued to improve in the NHL.

Hopefully, DJ keeps the Formenton, Paul & C. Brown line together, they looked very good in the last game & could be one of the best checking lines in the game. They are also great on the PK & the Sens have improved their special teams. While the defence needs major changes Ottawa has two good lines at forward even with the injuries. Once Pinto returns to play with Stutzle, if they can find a good RW for that line they could have a decent top 9.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but Batherson is exactly what this fanbase hoped Bobby Ryan would be when we traded for him. Goal scorer with silky mitts who can make plays all over the ice and play physical.

Bobby Ryan was actually very similar to this when he was younger, except that both were/are primarly playmakers and not goals scorers... they just were/are very talented so they could/can score plenty of goals as well. The difference between both is that it was know from a way younger age that Bobby was very talented as he was a 2nd overall pick just after Crosby. Batherson was a late bloomer.

But there's a thing called aging, and also injuries, which eventually diminishes your athleticim level. I hope Drake Batherson will be able to stay healthy his whole 20's. That is actually a rare feat, (NHL) hockey is very physical so players bodies take a beating their whole career. Look at Brendan Gallagher, he will be 30 y/o at the end of this season and it's actually amazing that he's still able to pay considering his playing style and all the injuries he had but you can feel the decline is very close

Now looking at Bobby Ryan production summary, he had a very short peak at a very young age (21-23) but then was a consistent top-6 forward for 5 straight seasons (first 3 in Ottawa) and then, as he was aging and cumulating injuries (particularly hands), he became a "tweener/2nd/3rd liner" for 3 more seasons until his final decline.

Season-(Age)-Team-PPG-Pts/82 GP

2007-08 (20) ANA 0.43 = 35 pts (23 GP)
2008-09 (21) ANA 0.89 = 73 pts
2009-10 (22) ANA 0.79 = 65 pts
2010-11 (23) ANA 0.87 = 71 pts
2011-12 (24) ANA 0.70 = 57 pts
2012-13 (25) ANA 0.65 = 53 pts (46 GP)
2013-14 (26) OTT 0.69 = 57 pts
2014-15 (27) OTT 0.69 = 57 pts
2015-16 (28) OTT 0.69 = 57 pts
2016-17 (29) OTT 0.40 = 33 pts (but 15 pts in 19 Playoffs Games)
2017-18 (30) OTT 0.53 = 43 pts
2018-19 (31) OTT 0.54 = 44 pts
2019-20 (32) OTT 0.33 = 27 pts (24 GP)
2020-21 (33) DET 0.42 = 34 pts (33 GP)

It'd be great if Batherson could do the same but hopefully stay healthy longer. Ryan's 21 and 22 y/o seasons were vastly superior though

Season-(Age)-Team-PPG-Pts/82 GP

2018-19 (20) OTT 0.45 = 37 pts (20 GP)
2019-20 (21) OTT 0.43 = 35 pts (23 GP)
2020-21 (22) OTT 0.61 = 50 pts (56 GP)
2021-22 (23) OTT 1.00 = 82 pts (12 GP)

I am starting to think that Drake is going to be our sniper! He is a hell of a player all around and becoming my favorite Sens player very quickly.

If you think about it he is playing with BT a front of net player and Norris who is 2nd line player playmaker and if he had a proper setup man, watch out!

I have to wonder if that Bath needs to play with Jimmy and then fine a center who works well with them Norris or Pinto or whoever.

At the end of the day I think Drake Batman can be our caped crusader / Sniper!

He’s scoring goals like he did in the AHL - cutting to the net at speed and beating goalies or converting lateral passes.

If he could improve his shot a bit more he could become a “sniper”.

He's just so good. Patience, skill, smarts and a really nice wrister. He even knows when to lay the body ion defenders while not running around. If he finds even a half step of explosiveness he'll be a top 10 player at his position. His contract looks to be one of the best in the league.

Pretty easily our best forward right now.
