Am I? I'm looking at the NHL Roster right now. Maybe 3 big holes to fill? Make it 4 with re-signing Samsonov.

Oh right I forgot, the entire NHL squad needs to be changed on a dime.
Well let's find out if you are or not. Fill those holes with ufas who could potentially impact the roster enough to make a difference relative to last seasons team.

Especially when you factor in that we could easily buy out Murray and free up another 4M if we wanted.

We aren't cash strapped at all

Or even dump him with retention. There's a lot of ways the Leafs can go to find money and keep doing whatever they want to do.

This idea they are cash strapped is so wrong and bizarre.

You think they need 2 top 6 Fs, 3 D and 3 bottom line players? Did the roster size of the NHL increase to 30?

Ok. That's completely wrong and insane, but ok lol
The point is that relative to last year's team the Leafs will be lucky to assemble a team this year equal to last year's. I hope I'm wrong and you are correct but I don't see it.

Move TJ
Move Murray
Move Muzzins contract after July 1st when his NTC switches to 10 teams
Thats 15mil and two of the players wont play next year anyway.
Moving Muzzins contract feels like a must as we dont want to live in LTIR next season and if Pridham walks we will be screwed

3 big holes?

3 on D
2 top 6 F
3 bottom 6 F
Even just looking at the D, thinking they need 3 more is nuts. Worst case scenario, you already have 4 full-time guys (Rielly, Brodie, McCabe, Liljegren) and a couple more questionable semi-regulars (Giordano, Timmins).

last off-season a lot of people said legit we were going to be lucky to make the playoffs with the goalies we have after Campbell walked. we are going to be fine.

Not really, as it adds $2 million to the 2024/25 season when the new AM and WN contracts kick in.

AM is not taking a 'discount' to fund Murray's buyout.

They are slated to start the year with relatively the same team. Did I miss something?

We are losing Bunting, Kerfoot, Sandin and Holl. We have gained (so far) McCabe, Lafferty and Knies. As far as I know, we're not losing great players because I know for a fact everyone around here despises Kerfoot and Holl.
