Some things that people are posting are making me more excited, and our staff has done well recently, so will give him a chance. Just seems like if we could have traded back, we should have.

One thing that stands out looking at his stats is he was very good in the playoffs

20 games played
9 goals
12 assists
I had him ranked at 22. I am a tad surprised he fell. I think of Brad has more picks this year, he would slay this draft.

Nadeau wh
What he was projected to go by non NHL scouts and where he was picked matters far less than what he does going forward from today. And realistically it's pick #28, you aren't drafting a ready made superstar from day 1 here. You would have to gut the roster and suffer for 5 more years of ineptitude as many of you seem eager to do.
Nadeau has elite skills was picked at 30. Cowan was a reach any way you slice it. There will be some first line players drafted after Cowan.

Who knows, maybe they intended to and the team that was interested bailed after the Ritchie pick or something. Hard to say

I did not follow this year's draft at all... but the 2nd half of the first round ALWAYS looks a lot different a year later. Wait and see.

All I really look/hope for after the top 10ish picks are guys that are projected to have upside (boom/bust over low ceiling players) as well as at least average skating and hockey IQ.

So let's wait and see what we get.

I like the kid. He works hard every shift and as the season progressed Hunter gave him more responsibility and he responded especially in the playoffs

Marner literally won playoff MVP for the Knights in 2016, how's that working out?

The kids production f***ing sucks and he was a massive reach, that's just our organization now.

Oh, Minten f***ing sucks too btw.

The 2015/16 Knights were far more talented than the 22/23 version. That Marner won MVP putting up 2.4PPG doesn't say anything about the type of player that Cowan is.

Let's see how his production fares this upcoming season, when he plays a larger role on the team.

Like Treliving said, they see upside in him.
