What's the book on Heinola?

Upon my (admittedly) cursory inspection, his numbers are solid against men and his most commonly reported question marks aren't difficult to correct.

What has him as a generally accepted late first as opposed to the middle of the round?

1st Kakko
1st Dorofeyev
2nd Ryan Johnson
2nd Case McCarthy
3rd Yegor Spiridonov
4th Rhett Pitlick
5th Dmitri Sheshin
6th Jonathan Yantsis
7th Cade Alami

Keep coming up with these names in various mocks I'm doing.

Martin Kaut was diagnosed with a heart condition at the combine and it didn't affect his draft position at all. I'm not worried about Krebs falling due to this

That whole thing was cleared up before the draft though.

Like I said earlier, the success rate at jumping back from a torn achilles is much better now than it used to be, but its still a pretty serious injury.

If he's seen on close or equal footing to a few guys, it may very well push him back a few spots which would be to our benefit.

I agree with @ZuccsFluffierFluffer about Ryan Johnson. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if the Rangers took him at 20. He's just a total eraser when the other team is in transition. He didn't put up a ton of points but he actually displays a lot skill in terms of skating and passing the puck up the ice. It would be easy to see him increase his offensive production as he develops. At the least, you figure he should be able to move the puck at an NHL level. On top of that, he has NHL bloodlines, is one of the youngest players in the draft, and developed well over the course of the season.

The more I think about it, Brink might be my top choice with the 20th pick. I keep coming back to this play, which I think is one of the more impressive plays by a prospect this year.

You hear people talk about a guy having elite vision because he has eyes in the back of his head or can make seam passes, but what Brink does here is on a different level. He uses the shot fake to manipulate the defense and goalie into opening up a seam for him and then makes an elite pass. I think the ability / hockey sense to manipulate players into doing what he wants is the stuff of an elite offensive player in the NHL.

Additionally, he's got sick hands:

I know there are complaints about his size / skating ability. Personally, I think the complaints about his skating ability are overstated, but more than that I think his hands and hockey sense could be good enough that he doesn't need to be a great skater anyway. His production was elite, he had a huge impact on his teammates, his possession stats are reportedly great, and he's one of the youngest players in the draft. On paper, he belongs in the top 10 and increasingly I think the numbers are right about him.

It won’t crater Krebs but it could drop him a few slots. If you had two guys neck and neck then you’d think it would be a tiebreaker.

I doubt it would drop him to 20, but 14-16? Why not. It could put him in a spot where we could jump up without dropping a ton of assets.

A fake shot to a pass? I'm just not seeing how that is one of the more impressive plays by a prospect this season. Nice pass, but a top play is reaching quite a bit IMO.

Wait...this just happened?
If it's a fully torn Achilles that will no doubt drop him in the draft rankings.

He’s a top-10 talent in the draft and the scouts following him have been doing so for years and realize he’s going to be a quality player.

Most of these kids are years away from being NHL ready So I don’t see it impacting his draft position by more than a couple of spots, If any.
