If Tkachuk is there at 9 and say the following are gone:

Zadina, Wahlstrom, and Hughes, and Rangers took him, I'm with that. It's just who's available at the time.

I think a lot of Rangers fans are not as enthralled by Tkachuk's passing because we've had great playmakers for years and haven't been able to get over the hump. Maybe it's unfair to Tkachuk but wingers that can pass well aren't go to players. Of course I should remember we're not picking top 3, maybe at #9 that's the best we can hope for.

Naa I would take Boqvist, Dobson, Smith and Veleno, maybe even Kravtsov, over him. He's reminiscent of Scott Hartnell and I saw him play live multiple times. Big miss at No. 9, IMO.

If Calgary gave the Rangers permission to speak with him, maybe.

Other than that, and even then I'd probably be too risk adverse to put myself in Calgary's current position.
