Draft is deep and NYR are nowhere deep enough to trade two late 1sts and two 2nds for a random mid 1st. Take the 4 lotto tickets all day long over the 1.
I disagree. I feel like we have the ammo to 'get our guy'

I am really curious to see how the Rangers approach this draft.

The scuttlebutt for a while has been their desire to have quality over quantity in this draft. But at what cost?
We definitely have ammo/options.

I'm hoping they're aggressive.

They allegedly wanted Petterson but didn't have the ammo to get him.

I want Gorton to get his guys. I think it would benefit us GREATLY to get a top6 C out of this draft, in addition to Kakko. We have the ammo and the top 15 is littered with them.

I wouldn't say the Rangers didn't have ammo for Pettersson; the Canucks knew 2hat he was and didn't want to go down.

It takes two to tango.

How bout this kid caulfield. It says a lot that as your name was picking up traction, you then go and just tear up the net at this tournament right now. Do any of you draft guys get the feeling like I do, that this might push he into the top10?

I haven’t watched the games, but I mean crap, how would he translate next to McDavid? Does he instantly give the oilers a winger for mcdavid.

We have more ammo now.

Identify a team picking ahead of us who lacks a system and/or picks and may look to restock with a few extra tickets, pounce.

I mean, you can just get 4 "your guys" and trade them later if you really want to.

Opportunities to overpay aren't disappearing anytime soon.

Probably not.
Pulu, Yamamoto say hi.

Not a lot of 18 year olds are ready to get leaned, slashed, and hit by men. We just saw this.

Really? Pulijarrvi? The guy who just had surgery on both his hips? He’s saying hi? Yeah to the rangers in a trade maybe.

Bet my pants he never sees mcdavid’s wing ever again.

idk what this has to do with my post.

And debrinkcat who caulfield is being called a mirror image of, just scored 40 in his D+1.

Anyway, you wanna sell me on a Kreider + a single pick to move up top 8, top 10, top 12, sure I can buy that.

I'm not gonna want to trade away 3 or 4 top X picks and lose what looks like our best chance for a solid, consistent pipeline for the next decade. I think the depth in THIS draft is what really sets the team up for 10 years.

Next year we can accelerate by trading up and getting an NHL ready kid at the top of the draft because the timeline is a lot closer. Eat your veggies before dessert. JMO

How not. I asked does anyone think the oilers may see Caulfield as a potential plug and play with mcdavid and you said pulijarrvi says hi. ???
If it was plug and play they'd have Lucic scoring 30 riding shotgun like they planned, DUCY?

Huh?

Look forget it.
Basically, I’d love to draft the kid. I don’t see how he doesn’t score goals in bunches. I don’t think the rangers will have a chance unless they trade for 8-11OA specifically to draft him. I think he goes high

This U18 is a big deal for final rankings whether that’s fair or not. I think I can now give my final top 10.

Again Just my opinion

1 Hughes
2 Kakko
3 Byram
4 Dach
5 Caufield
6 Cozens
7 Turcotte
8 Newhook
9 Broberg
10 Zegras
