I don't want to trade Georgiev without seeing what Shesty could do... but if they ask for Georgie and Kreider for the 8th I'd do it with Zegras on the board.
Edmonton just signed their goalie to a long-term deal so I doubt they're looking for a new starter. And if they're just looking for a backup they wouldn't be trading assets. Just my two cents.

It feels like most of you would hope to get a center prospect with a top 6 upside. Historically OHL and QMJHL have produced its fair share of scoring centers. This year its mostly been Lavoie and Suzuki.
While the USNDT and WHL guys are stealing the show so far, is there any OHL QMJHL centres you guys have seen that we can nab in the later 1. round?

While I agree another top 10 pick would be awesome, I don't see any way to get it without overpaying with picks or prospects that is hopefully a part of future. Kreider is a good piece, but with consitency issues, and only 1 year left,
but he should only be a target for a team tat think they can go all the way the next few years.

I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up but I had a chance to speak to a pro scout today and I asked him if Shattenkirk had any value at this point. Answer; no.
Shattenkirk had a mediocre season at worst.

To think he's bad and not worth value is lol.

But no, I guess an anonymous scout knows more and is the authority here.

100000 percent correct . Like ZERO POINT ZERO lol

If he does have any value it surely won't involve anything of value. I would be shocked. Plus I would imagine some kind of retaining salary?!?!

Is that a Wheel of Time reference? IIRC, Saidar was the female half of the power and the male half, Saidin, was tainted and turned men mad.

Well I guess we'll know when Rasmus "Saidin" scores 40 goals in his rookie season and when he wins the Calder, the Vegas center is taken in an earthquake.

I'm all for Newhook with Winnipeg's pick. The Rangers can afford that gamble with Hughes or Kakko on the way. I'd go D with our first 2nd rounder. Heinola, Bjornfoot, Thomson, Johnson, and Kokkonen in particular would all be great picks in that spot.

I keep hearing his name can you tell me more about him?

Brett Howden is going to be at least a 40 plus pt physical fast and relentless 3C as soon as next season. I’m not sure how people didn’t come away from watching him put up 25 pts this year with injury and not see where he’s headed. No one should be writing him off. He’s very much a core player.

Lias on the other hand is probably gone soon or a fourth liner here which is where he can really help us actually. There just are going to be much better players than him coming in and quickly.

Your next post that isn't about Lias will be your first.

I'm not going to pretend Shattenkirk comes in many conversations in my world, but I have to agree with this.

With term left, decreased production, increased concern about injury and now on the wrong side of 30? I'm not sure what someone thinks would be the selling point.

"Hey, I'd like your offensive-minded defenseman on the wrong side of 30 who scored 2 goals last season, and I'd like to have him on the books for two years please."

The only way we move Shattenkirk is if we find a similar contract, with similar term.

Well i think the not having value part takes into account his age, his knees, and his salary even if some money was retained.

I am against trading Kreider, he fell off in the later part of season but he has ability you don't easily find and can be a veteran on a rebuilding team who is still young enough to contribute when the team is ready.

I would be willing to trade multiple picks and Lias to get one of the centers in the top 10, if that's not enough then so be it.

Hey guys, please don’t shoot the messenger. I’m trying to find out stuff (not very easy) I can safely share. My friend works for a team that competes with the Rangers. He doesn’t give me much.

His opinion certainly carries more weight than yours. It’s also probably far more informed and partially reflects the opinions of at least some others in the profession.
