Albin Grewe would fit that mold of speedy hard working winger. I am hoping that the Rangers can get him in the 2nd rd. He can play middle 6 and he has snarl to his game. Anyone seen him play in person?

Ive seen him on TV quite much but will actually see him in person tomorrow.

I didn’t think of him, but he is definitely a good candidate. Stronger skater, high quality player, a bit of offense to his game.

ok @Edge

opinion on tobias Björnfot

i like the kid end rd 1/early rd 2 not flashy but solid and shows few holes.

solid stocky build. great skater. plays with an EDGE and wears the C for the swedes. kids got a very strong accurate shot. his wrist shot looks like a forward the way he shoots it.

hes not a defensive guy per say but plays an honest 2oo ft game. very involved player who scores big goals.

when i watch him he has great feet, fluid hips and the ability to push the puck. looks like a guy who could find a top 4 spot down the road.

another one of the new wave of slightly undersized but strong skating, smart 2 way dmen.

I think that’s fairly accurate.

He reminds me of Lundkvist in the sense that there elements there that lead one to believe that there’s some nice offensive potential. But it’s not necessarily something that is ever-present.

He’s got a good shot, but he’s not not necessarily a guy who thinks offensively so I do wonder how much it will come into play as he develops.

Makes very smart decisions with the puck, especially when getting it out of the zone. I’d say that’s his biggest strength, he can get the play started and the puck to the right guy. While he doesn’t strike me as the guy who is going to set up the ensuing offensive play, or get a point from it, he’ll be there when it started.

Very cool, calm and collected. Excellent poise. Like a lot of kids in his size range, he’s going to need to get bigger and stronger. He’s a solid skater, not necessarily blazing from point A to point B, but very mobile. I think he’s still learning the defensive tricks to make his life a little easier and there are times I’d like to see him position himself a little better as the other team enters the zone, but he’s a smart enough player that he has the potential to adjust.

Bjornfot is a guy who doesn’t really jump out at you. I don’t know if there’s any one area where you feel like that’s his calling card, but he’s good enough across the board that it comes together nicely.

I’m not quite sure if there’s enough pure skill there for me to view his ceiling as firmly in the second pair range. To me he feels like a very capable third pairing defenseman who helps teams on the breakout and plays an all-around supporting role.

He’s steady pick, who I’d feel more comfortable taking with our second, or as a good value pick in the range of where our Dallas pick will likely fall in the second.

I have no clue about this player, but his statline is really impressive for Liiga. One of the top scorers in the entire league as a big, mobile RHD

Arizona is unquestionably the team to watch. They need scoring and do not have as much money to throw around as you might think. The Coyotes had a $65MM budget this year but have several big contracts kicking in next year. Right now, they have about $66MM committed to 16 roster players for 2019-20. Kreider is probably their best chance to add a scorer at a price they can digest. Good chance they will want to move a veteran defenseman (Goligoski/Demers/Hjalmarsson) either as part of a deal with the Rangers or someone else to create some cap room. I don’t know what they are paying on Hossa’s deal but that also might figure in here. #14 and a young player (they have a few of interest) has me listening. I’d also take Hjalmarsson because he played well this year because he could be flipped down the line.

they only have to pay hossa $1 mil in return for a $5.75 mil cap hit. so doubt they'd be looking to move him

what # is the Tampa's 2nd round pick going to be? 57?

Also, maybe many of you have realized this but I only realized this today. If the Jets lose AND Carolina vs Columbus play in the eastern conference finals AND Dallas vs Vegas/Colorado play in the western conference finals, doesn't that mean what would a be #21 Jets pick moves up to the #17 OA pick?

So best case scenario is 2 + 17 + 26-30 ?

That’d be absolutely insane.

My fault, thought the tournament was 18 and under :help:

That would be u19 ;) But yeah, it's always tricky with cut offs.

We have so many D-men already, but adding Kaski would be great. You can never have too many prospects. Let them all battle it out, and the last man standing is the best of the bunch, and earns a spot on the team. Kaski had a great tournament with magnificent even strength stats

Agreed, and with how much variance we've seen with defensive prospect, it never hurts to stockpile them until they start panning our way. Besides, Kaski is a RHD, and we still are lacking heavily in organizational depth at this position for the future outside of Nils and Keane.

Q&A: What NHL talent evaluators love about Memorial Cup – Memorial Cup

Some good tidbits from JG. His responses are generally shorter than the other GM's that were asked

Jeff Gorton: We always want our players to play at the highest level and in games that mean something, so to watch them in that environment is great from a scouting aspect for how they perform under the gun. When you have your own draft picks there, it’s the same kind of thing. You want them to go as far as they can. You want them to learn how to win, and obviously if they got to the Memorial Cup that means a lot. It means they’ve won something and they’re continuing to play in games that mean something, so it’s all the best for their development.

It's possible they move up 4 spots, but I have it from 22 to 18.

Does anyone know where arseni gritsyuk might go in the draft? 3rd-5th round? He might go the chl route as i think he is still on a junior contract

Again, I think this draft more than any other will solidify exactly how fast this team will get to where it wants to be. Huge chance to get into that top 10 twice. Would be incredible to add two more high caliber kids + allllll our later round picks. Tremendous turning point in the history of this team at this draft, that just can’t be understated. We have so many pieces + wherever these picks which are currently in play land.

WHERE IS JUNE?!
