they are good for getting familiar with some of the names in the later rounds as we tend to focus on the top 50 or so guys

I'll take 1 Alexander Lundqvist in the 7th round. Nephew of Lidstrom. We drafted his father too in the 7th round in the 1998 draft.

True but the same is also true of the real drafts. There's always a lot of oddities. The mocks just simulate that with little to no real accuracy.

I will say that the hype around Kotkaniemi last season bore fruit, though.

he gets high marks for effort, character, compete level, skating and defensive awareness.

i continue to want more from him production wise and so it leaves me thinking the hands and offensive acumen may just not be there.

hes like a better skating russian ryan callahan to me.
