I think as different guys come in and out of the spotlight, a guy like Boldy kind of blends into the background a little. I think the odds are still in favor of him being a top 10 pick, or right outside the top 10.
Would love to be able to get him, but you are right. The chances of him not going top-10 are small.

LA brought their entire scouting staff and GM to see Cozens play in the playoffs, I think they like him.

Hughes
Kakko
Byram
Dach
Cozens
Turcotte

Turcotte goes before Dach, that I'd for sure wager on.

Top 5 will be
Hughes
Kakko
Byram/Turcotte
Byram/Turcotte
Cozens

Colorado takes whichever one Chicago doesn't. At number 6 is when things potentially get crazy. Picks 6-20 will be fascinating this year.

Just a few notes about the Rangers drafting:

Last OHL forward taken with first round pick : Manny Malhotra, 1998.

Last Russian Dman drafted out of Russia : Mikhail Pashnin 7th round 2009.

Number of Russian Dmen drafted by NYR after Sergei Zubov was drafted : 8 (out of around 250 draft picks since).

Last time we drafted a forward with our first rounder in three consecutive drafts : 97-99.

Number of Finnish players drafted by Rangers since 1990 : 7 (out of around 250 draft picks since).

Is this indicative of something or just par for the course? I'm hoping he is picked early so it possibly frees up another prospect like Tomasino or Seider
Well that many interviews puts pressure on some of the teams in the teens. If you are goalie starved like Florida, it may be too risky to pass.

I really can't see Cozens going before Dach. I've seen the expert rankings, but watching them play, it's clear Dach is far more talented. Flip those two and then your top 5 is pretty accurate in my opinion.

Is there a draft trade value chart in the nhl like in the NFL?

Would basically trade everything in 2019 after #2 to get Zegras, just slightly less to grab Newhook or Boldy. Coming out of the draft with 2 elite forwards would be outstanding.

How do people view Tomasino VS. Newhook? Could Tomasino legitimately a strong number 2/3 behind Mika in 2-3 years? If we aren't getting Seider I truly hope we can draft Tomasino since it feels less than certain that Lias/Chytil become that 2/3 center (albeit I'm still holding out hope one of them become a very good NHL center).

I haven’t heard Matthew Boldy mentioned around here in awhile. Is it possible that he drops to the mid teens and becomes a trade up option for us? It sounds like centers and defensemen could be flying off the shelves.

Doubt it, but if he somehow he falls I'd hope NYR hops on it!!

My bad guys Draftwired is not up apparently it was too expensive to run it this year.

I'll try to find the source that I read this off of, but Heinola has 29 interviews this week. A strong case for this kid to go a lot sooner than we all think!!

Or, teams see him slipping and everyone in later part of round and start of next round could have shot at him
