Korpisalo PLEEEEEEEASE!!!!!! That's the guy I want! I rarely ever say that we need goaltending to the extent that others on this board do, but the guy that single-handedly took Tampa to 5 overtimes? Yes please! Korpisalo would be amazing. Jackets must really have certainty that one of Hall or Petro is getting ready to sign the dot, however, if they're willing to deal him to a division rival.

Hinostroza to Florida.

Korpisalo would be expensive in a trade. Probably looking at 2021 1st+ or Jake Bean+.

Korpisalo would be worth it, though. And I rarely ever say that about goalies. He's only on a $2.8M cap hit for 2 years and he was fantastic in the bubble. If you can find a cap floor club that values Reimer's post-bonus contract and get a pick for him, you make that Korpisalo deal 7 days a week.

At what point will we shit or get off the pot with Nedeljkovic? Either give him the shot to be the backup in the NHL for an entire season, or cut losses. Keeping both Mrazek/Reimer and leaving him for another year in the AHL is going to do nothing.

Do I think he's the guy? Probably not, but he's never been given a proper chance.

That might be the reason that rumors are flying about Mrazek and Reimer, JS. If the tandem became something like Korpisalo/Nedeljkovic, I would be pretty happy with that, mostly because I love Korpisalo to pieces. I don't think that the Canes will trade their first away unless they get a first from someone else, though. That Marleau deal was essentially the catalyst for the Skjei deal.

I don’t follow all the Twitter accounts. What are the rumors flying around about Mrazek and Reimer?. I heard EDM had a slight interest in Mrazek, but haven’t heard much else since I don’t follow a lot of the insiders.

I think the Canes are pretty well off the pot with Nedeljkovic. He's been beaten repeatedly in the NHL due to being too small. He can't cover the net well enough and has to be near perfect to keep pucks out. Hard row to hoe with any consistency.

Size isn't everything, though it does help. Shestyorkin's only 6'1" and every Ranger fan is obsessed with him, probably deservedly so considering how good he has been. Having Ned as a backup is a high-risk/high-reward thing when it comes to the cap. If he succeeds in any form, you have some decent, cheap #2 play for a few years, at least, that you can fill in with major investments, like say, a Dougie extension. The risk, of course, is that you may get goaltending so bad that you miss the playoffs. The reward, however, is yet another playoff berth and a greater shot at holding on to Dougie. In my armchair-GM thought process, that's a tough one to balance out. I would probably need a damn-solid #1 like a Kuemper or Korpisalo before I'd consider it.

I don’t get the hardcore love for Korpisalo. Yeah he played great during the playoffs and was slightly above average during the regular season. But his two previous seasons were .897 sv%. He’s never started more than 37 games in a season. Is he that much of an upgrade over Mrazek/Reimer that we have to give up a solid draft pick for him?

I’d much rather target Crawford to be a part of a 1A/1B tandem here in Raleigh on a short term deal. Crawford has been pretty darn consistent his whole career, including last season.
