I don’t. I think the Soo has a hard time finding value and a landing spot for Nordh simply because we have to take an import back ( most likely ).

Would be nice though… I haven’t put too much thought into Nordh to be fair
Kitchener appears to have an open import spot, but they may be waiting on someone. I'd imagine that Brampton (Fibigr), Oshawa (Svozil) and Brantford (Jiricek) aren't overly attached to their 2nd OA's.

Regarding Charlie, I think Kingston is a super obvious fit. I've watched a couple of games recently and they can't be happy with Lalonde as their OA. He's never been good and isn't any better this year, getting pulled from 2 of the 3 games I watched.

He was good enough to get past you last year.

I’ve had a feeling about Kingston since the offseason.

Ooooof that’s a good trade. Only thing I would switch is we need Jenken as our 3rd pair shutdown guy this year, so I’d hope two-way defenseman PJ Fagan was going instead.

But Read traded would hurt, but you gotta give up something good to get something good.
If you want Gibson we would prefer Jenken, Read, plus picks. Fagan you can keep.
Windsor, Brampton, Barrie and Kingston also likely eyeing Gibson so will need a big deal to secure his services.

I was just going to say that Tyler Hopkins would have to be a part of that trade for the same reasons that I suggested Noah Read, but you edited. Great minds think alike I guess!

Also, I know I sound like a broken record, but Miller has a 2.57 GAA and .917 SV% in his last 8 against 'good' competition. That argument was clearly baloney and he's proven everyone wrong. Get a haul for Charlie in a rebuilding year. He's been incredible and someone will pay up.

Where do you have Nordh going?
Getting Hopkins for Gibson seems like a pipe dream with the year he is having. Kingston likely willing to give up other younger players and picks as Hopkins is one of their top guys this year.

Never say never.

I’d be very happy to see a package deal made with Kingston to land Hopkins and Xander Valleries. Maybe they want Mignosa and see him as an upgrade over Hopkins with opportunity to recoup assets next year as an overager. Maybe that’s more valuable to them at this current time? Who knows.

Exactly this. It will be a bidding war.

If Windsor wants Gibson , Raftis should start with Belchetz and that’s it. Play hard ball knowing you have 5 other teams bidding too. Start with securing an 08 but if not, then a solid 07 or 2(?).

Not saying Soo would get Belchetz at all(they wouldn’t) but that’s where I’d start LOL

Hopkins and Velliaris would be a good get for sure. Younger brother of Brayden can skate and is solid defensive dman. Could see them wanting to unload Ethan Weir of Adam Kelly before Hopkins.

Belchetz is a nice fantasy but very unlikely so maybe we ask for Lemieux and Hicks for Gibson, 2 good young 08s to add to team in absence or our missed picks this past draft.

I’d be out. Mark Hunter doesn’t do bidding wars so that’s why he’s a better GM than me lol!

I don’t think you can trade for any 08’s unless they are first round picks and they waive their no trade clauses.
