Salary Cap: Dr Dubas Cap Thread: He wants the Nurse

I don’t want to think too far ahead, but with the Lapierre acquisition, could there be any chance in seeing Kindel as the 2C, and Novak being moved out this offseason in a package? Whether it’s moving up in the draft, a higher impact forward or defensive help?
That should already be the plan, even without Lapierre.

I wouldn't say it's impossible but I'd say it's incredibly unlikely.

They'll sell Novak at the deadline next year and maybe Kindel slides into the 2C role and Lapierre into the 3C role at that point. But even then, I think Lapierre is more of a winger than a center at this point.

And even his college production was just fine, he was the 4th leading scorer on his team in his junior year when he had 40 points in 43 games.

I think people saw the Penguins hit on Blueger, who was also a 2nd rounder center with similar college production, and concluded "Broz will definitely be the next Blueger". But then they ignore that Blueger panned out because he could cut it as a defensive 4C, which isn't Broz's game.
Have you watched Broz’s game at all? He’s very good defensively and better skater than Blueger? He could definitely make a career out of 4C if given the chance, which he might not here…

IMO he is shopping in the right aisles for where we are as a franchise.
Exactly what I said before. We're not in a position to trade 1sts or likewise assets for big name players hoping they will take us to the promised land.

We need to build the
foundation first. I get it that a team like Chicago makes a big swing (although overpay deluxe) cause they have been rebuilding for a while and have a young core in place already and want to take the next step.

No offense, but I don't think you're exactly an unbiased observer when it comes to Tristan Broz
I think I’m very realistic about him…bottom six player…he should be given an opportunity…no reason not to see what you have for 20 games…some players are better in the NHL than the A, see one Bryan Rust lol…you don’t know until you play them

Trocheck does have a 12 team no trade that goes to 10 teams on July 1st. Though I imagine just about anywhere he goes would be a better situation than what he is currently in. Unless he reeeeeeeeeally loves NYC and Sullivan.

Trots' situation in NYR seemed pretty good, to me. Sullivan is a fan from all indications... he played top PP time and over the years has played consistently with the likes of Panarin. NYR's failures are at least partially his, as well.
